Here's the breakdown. The GOPe cannot stand the Conservative base. They are certain that the Conservative base is made up of a bunch of Bible-toting rubes who really don't understand how the “real world” works and who are basically functioning idiots. Hence, the GOPe believes it is their right and duty to be the adults and control the Party so the great unwashed don't mess things up.

Democrats, on the other hand, believe it is their right to rule and govern over everyone due to their superiority of intellect and moral position. Anyone who does not hold to the liberal dogma is simply illegitimate, plain and simple. The corrupt MSM, Hollywood, the education system have all reinforced this and saturated our culture with this belief since the mid-sixties.

Therefore, Democrats, and the GOPe are both power hungry lunatics, but for different reasons. And I think that is why we are seeing this confluence of effort on the part of the GOPe and Democrats (fake intelligence report, for example)to try and take down Trump, and this effort is far from over. But, a lot of people are threatened by Trump and his effort to drain the swamp. This will impact of lot of political vermin, so the battle is going to be fierce.

In the end however, I believe Trump is going to do great things for this country and once he starts racking up some successes it will be harder and harder for the opposition to effectively attack him.
