Vote early and often
Rob covered this issue in large part yesterday while I was on the road, but as a second-day followup I wanted to highlight what could be a major - and until now, largely unrealized - problem with the administration of elections in major urban counties that vote heavily Democratic.
Michigans recount has obviously hit some major legal hurdles, but its also hit a huge administrative one: Wayne County, which votes overwhelmingly Democratic and is Michigans largest county, cant seem to reconcile the hand count of ballots with what the voting machines indicated. And its not even close, with 59 percent of precincts showing the discrepancy.
Maybe HRC will have to pay off Stein to make her stop counting and exposing all the fraud the Dem machine had set up.
MAGA by draining the voting swamps.
So all those precincts in inner-city Detroit were voting for Trump twice? Damn!
“In most states there is one Repub and one Dem judge at all times for counting. Is the Repub not allowed? I believe the rest of the 49 states deserve an answer to this question.”
IIRC, in Philly, during the 2012 election, there were precincts where, indeed, Republican election watchers were banned from the counting areas.
On an interview the other day she was unable to believe that there were "under votes" where people voted for all the state and local races but voted for no one for President. She was so clueless to the history of this being done in contentious elections she insisted it meant that the ballots were miscounted.
She has very little electoral or governmental experience.
So, all the RATs in Michigan have to do is sneak in a few extra ballots at each reliably Republican district then demand a recount, which would invalidate all those R votes?
that’s pitiful. That she’s an insane person has been clear throughout the campaign season.
I think that person was wrong. I think that all that happens is that there is no recount there. They are not rounded to zero.
Ds register as Rs for the very purpose of becoming board workers. It helps enable fraud.
Is this just me or does this explain the high participation rates of black districts? Nationally voter participation hovers around 50 to 60 percent. Then we see Philly come in with participation over 100 percent. If the actual voting was approximate to the national average counting each vote twice would explain the 100 plus percent returns.
the real question is... how do we get that done?
the federal election commission (FEC) and the election assistance commission (EAC) are the only agencies set up to work with the vote... BUT, they don’t take a very active role (currently) at the state level.
i believe the approach should be to enforce the law at the federal level... that being, only one vote per citizen in their home district. this has never been enforced as there was no way to verify the vote ... until now.
if it was required to prove the integrity of the vote at the state level before the federal govt would accept its vote count, it would force the states to supply such proof... which can only lie in blockchain based voting (blockchain is a software technology).
additionally, any voting machine used must meet federal standards which would include a print out receipt of the voter’s choices and various other information allowing the voter to verify their vote was recorded in the blockchain.
absentee ballots would be a thing of the past, as any voter could walk into any precinct in the country (or embassy or base or shipboard voting area), insert their voter card, have facial recognition verify their identity, and have their vote cast in their home district, as associated with their voter-id (any changes to which would also be recorded in a publicly available blockchain database)
the big question is ... WHO do we talk to?
WHO in the Trump camp would we contact that would help champion the cause??
places like philly and NYC have buses that drive professional voters from precinct to precinct voting under different names.
that’s been going on for many, many decades
I do not contest your description of the mechanics of the recount, but I would suggest the process puts the issue of fraud out of reach.
Then Detroit is more sophisticated if all they do is run the votes through twice. Less fuss Less muss.
Stein may be doing us a huge service by going through this re-count, it’s uncovering the fraud on the Rats’ side.
Michigan Attorney General and Sec. of State should begin a fraud probe after the new year. Drain the Detroit Swap.
Sounds to me as if Democrats, corrupt to the core even in 1954, passed this law in order to protect questionable vote tallies. Now, it comes back to bite them in their collective butts. Too bad, so sad, not enough fraud. No redo.
If there's anyone who deserves a break, it's dems.
Look - I made a funny there!
So where were the Republican poll workers when votes were being double counted???
If I were the Green Party, Id take all actions possible at this point to stop the re-count in Michigan.
Reminds me of the old saying; the only thing worse than not getting what you want, is getting what you want.
And I inferred from that report that there would be no further investigation into what caused the discrepancies. I.e., the state is likely going to let the fraud go.
