Common Sense Evaluation ^

Exiled Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama said Wednesday he has “no worries” about Donald Trump’s election as U.S. president.

The Dalai Lama is a wise man. To be fair, the Dalai Lama also said; “If there is no solution to the problem then don’t waste time worrying about it. If there is a solution to the problem, then don’t waste time worrying about it.”

He’s a big hitter, the Lama. I bet he has a lifetime membership at all of the Trump courses.

Wonder why the "To be fair.." lead in. Almost as if the writer didn't grasp the meaning/implications of the statement.

Ehhhhh... not really too sure about that (definitely not one of Fox News' more brilliant moments).

Hey Dali, how about something for the effort?
So he said, Goonga la Doonga, no Goonga la goonga which means on your deathbed you will have perfect peace.

The Dali Lama has to be great, after all, Obama went out of his way to disrespect him during his White House visit.
The Dali Lama was shown in and later out of the White House through the back entrance between the rows of garbage cans piled high with glad bags of garbage.

The insult was not lost on Buddhist followers.

Was there ever any explanation offered why he had to use the back entrance?

What a strange feeling that I am now more devoted to the Dalai Lama then to the Pope.

That sounds vaguely hippyish.

I never thought I could hate a pope.

That quote would have saved me a lot of grief over 48 years.

Better late than never. Will send it to wife.

“A one-L lama, he’s a priest.
A two-L llama, he’s a beast.
But you can bet your top pajama
That you won’t find a three-L lllama.”

Sorry, couldn’t resist. I love that ditty.

It's an improvement on Mark Twain's, 'Worry is like making advance payment on something you're not likely to get anyway".

I would like to offer my sincere apologies for the earlier crap I was spewing. I will make an effort to contain myself and take swats at folks who have their heads and hearts in the right place because I either misinterpret a post or have a slight disagreement with something. I get so discouraged with the folks that seem to work so hard to demoralize our side that I tend to go overboard and put my foot (both feet) all in it.

Once again - sincere apologies.

Payback for Obama forcing him to leave the White House via the garbage chute.

I’ve thought every day since of apologizing in a mail but was afraid it would be met harshly :)

BTW, I haven’t boxed for 22 years and you’d tear me limb from limb :)

I’d still show up. I’d just call the ambulance RIGHT before you got to work!!

Wonder why the "To be fair.." lead in.

I think the meaning is something like, "The Dalai Lama says he has no worries about Donald Trump's election. To be fair, he says he has no worries about anything."

The point is that Donald Trump's election is no different from all the other things about which the Dalai Lama is not worried.

LOL! I had the same urges/fears - I'm glad to responded to the other post.

I studied my martial arts over 42 years ago - I found it to be more a sophisticated form of street fighting and couldn't get into the hard core breaking and working the knuckles and other such things to make my body the board-breaking weapon many strived for. I'd wager your 48 year old body has more snap to it and sharper reflexes than my 64 year old body (I still sometimes think I'm a vibrant 45 but workouts take longer to recover from and I've had to ease up so I'm not always just recovering from the last workout so I can do the next one) along with more formal training.

I decided years ago that even when I won a fight, I still paid the price and the older me cringes at the bumps/scrapes/bruises - I still exercise but mainly to try to stay active into dotage....

I guess I'll stop before I end up asking you to marry me.....Thanks for being so understanding.

Good take - I was thinking it might be that he says good things about Trump, but he also says good things about most anything - so don't take the nice stuff about Trump too seriously.

You're version makes more sense.

rofl!!

You’re doing a lot better than me.

I look like the Pillsbury dough boy.

What a shame.

What worries me is that in this shape, and getting older, I’d have to walk away from a slight or insult, which is the smart thing to do, but SO DIFFICULT for men like us!!

Ciao,
Mark

And thanks for your service.

Thanks for the military comment - I keep a bowflex in the house along with a treadmill and exercycle (the elliptical was causing more pains than it was worth). The wife likes the treadmill and I use the others.

I am usually armed so i naturally walk away from face to face insults and other slurs - I don't want to rely on an aging body for defense and also don't want to have to shoot at anyone that doesn't make it absolutely necessary.

Regaining the "glory days" ain't easy or even possible, but a light program makes one feel better - here's hoping.

Ciao (actually spent 2-1/2 years in Southern Italy and my daughter Shana Loren was born in Brindisi.

Bob
