It's a blast from the past, who doesnt enjoy looking at vintage gun ads? It's funny to see how they marketed firearms back in the early to mid 20th century, not to mention the prices!
Here are 20 beautiful vintage gun ads from a bygone era. While some of these ads are from long ago, some are fairly recent. They speak to not only much cheaper pricing, but also to the changing cultural mores of the day. Heres our time machine, sit down and enjoy.
Ok, this one is just weird and dangerous!
This one that promoted hunting tigers, which would raise a lot of hackles in social media today. See the rest here.
One for the Bang file...
In VG condition certain models of the Nylon 66 are worth something. Mine is not. It is probably worth a few bucks more than my wife paid for it ($119).
Fun gun, though. Weighs less than my Crossman BB/pellet gun.
Sportsmans model 999,
Yup, had. One,
Great shooter!
Me too.
Maybe, just maybe we'll be able to die in it...God willing.
Tell the story, please!
Yes, but uniformly so...
Re: “Tell the story, please!”
Tom, we are both showing our age.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who killed John Kennedy in 1963, bought the murder weapon from that magazine ad.
Was 8 (1941) when I got my first bolt-action .22 and 10 (1943) when I got a 410/22 over/under...
The .22 was purchased in the corner drugstore for my 8th birthday...
Grew up with a lot of them - always had a subscription of American Rifleman and a few others coming to the house because Dad was a true enthusiast and lifetime NRA Member, and he brought me under his wing.
