When I Tell Men I Would Never Get an Abortion, Their Reaction Is Infuriating

Men who want to have sex with women who aren't interested in taking pills or getting abortions need to strap it up, wrap it up, or get a vasectomy.

When I was 24, I decided against using hormonal birth control or getting an abortion unless absolutely medically necessary. At that time, I was dating and having sex with a man for about six months. We always used condoms, but that did not completely eliminate the possibility that I could become pregnant if we slipped up. So, I figured I was obligated to tell him about the choices I'd made.

“If I get pregnant, abortion isn’t going to be an option, OK?” I turned what should have been a statement into a question and I don’t know why. Maybe to make it more palatable for him? To make it seem as if he had a choice in the matter when he didn’t really? I also told him that I would not ever take the pill. It was, after all, my body.

He was not particularly happy about my revelations.

“But I’m really not ready for kids,” he responded shrewdly.

I shrugged and told him that I wasn’t either and that meant we should be extra-careful.

My response was not enough to settle his concerns, though. He still felt very troubled, and it even became a point of contention in our relationship. He felt as if I was taking away some hypothetical choice from him, and, of course, taking away the freedom to occasionally have unprotected sex without repercussion.

It’s statements like that, that made me have a difficult time trusting another woman after my divorce. I hear women talk about men, relationships and sex in ways that scream red flag. Unfortunately it’s my perception that most women are waving these red flags.

Take the Red Pill.

Dian de Momerie: [to an unseen Wimsey] I hate you!
Lord Peter Wimsey: [Up in a tree in costume] Then you’re on the high road to loving me, which is only natural. We needs must love the highest when we see it. Can you see me?
Dian de Momerie: Not very well.
Dian de Momerie: [With a seductive tone] Come down, Harlequin. I wish you to come down. If you came down, I could see you better.
Lord Peter Wimsey: And love me better perhaps?
Dian de Momerie: Perhaps.
Lord Peter Wimsey: Then I’m safer where I am, knowing what happens to your lovers.
Dian de Momerie: Come down, Harlequin, and I’ll show you how to get a kick out of life.
[She laughs]
Lord Peter Wimsey: [Jumping off the back of the tree to the ground unseen] Well?
Dian de Momerie: [Somewat seductively] Will I do?
Lord Peter Wimsey: For what?
Dian de Momerie: For you.
Lord Peter Wimsey: And what are you good for me?
Lord Peter Wimsey: I’m beautiful.
Lord Peter Wimsey: Not as beautiful as you were, and in five years time you will be ugly.
Dian de Momerie: I wouldn’t want you for five years.
Lord Peter Wimsey: And I wouldn’t want you for five minutes.

I’ve volunteered at CPC’s as well including post-abortion counseling and, as you know, there are many heartbreaking stories women face in these situations. The sad part is, as you said, that most abortions happen when the mother is abandoned by the father of the child and/or her family. Granted, there are some women who have had multiple abortions and seem to not care that much about it, but I can pretty much guarantee that it wasn’t the case for the first time. Even those who seem hardened by their experience pay a steep emotional and psychological price that follows them the rest of their lives.

God bless you in the ministering you do! Everyone who is prolife should do all they can to support crisis pregnancy centers. They are on the front lines in this battle and are attacked on all sides.

And often paid by the children. Having a 14 month old, I can’t imagine not having her father. MrR is really hands on and with us being older and retired our ‘job’ is rearing her, teaching her, playing with her and we take turns watching her when the other has something to do (farm paperwork, housekeeping, bils) but she has us all the time.

I have spent extensive time in Russia and the story resonates. Abortion was/is one of the cornerstone evils of that system and the spiritual damage lingers to this day.

//Persevero, the LORD bless you for your incredible service on the front lines of the battle between the forces of God and the forces of Satan. What a life and soul saver crisis pregnancy centers are.//

Amen it is just a shame more women/girls don’t know about them. So many are told PP is the only option and they only push abortions.

Better to chose not to be a victim before you become one.

He sounds like a wonderful man! Your child is fortunate to have the both of you so involved in caring and loving her. Your husband’s example will also be a strong influence in the kind of man she marries.

>>>We were small potatoes at the time. I probably did three women a week for like three years, so approx. 450<<<

That’s fantastic. That is a lot of women you helped. And only 2 of them were married. wow!

To make it doubly ironic in this context, Sayers had an illegitimate child with a motorcyclist. Not kidding.

and nowadays getting married has zero upside for men. everything is so adversarial and women are conditioned to always compete with men, husbands have to ask permission to pee in their own house

Exactly. I see marriage as not an option anymore. I would advise any young guy against it. Not that most need my advise as most women become complete pains in the ass even very early in dating relationships. They don't even try too keep in in check until the ring is on the finger anymore.

Nope! Men are entirely subservient to the women they have sex with if they conceive a child.

I think you are incorrect. Just imagine what was expected of a man who impregnated a woman 60+ years ago, and compare it to now. Feminists have convinced women, ironically, that men are completely irrelevant. Men (for the most part) have been freed from responsibilities of fatherhood.

Honestly i think liberal show writers portraying men as the dumbest member of the family, being lectured by kids and the wife, always being wrong, being inept, being ‘caught’, being re-educated for being a man, factors into this too.

Propaganda on all the time, putting out that same message across almost all shows, just with different characters to appeal to different demographics, has an effect. Same with commercials.
