This is thin, but it fits into everything that is being said about filling the Secretary of State position.
Source says John Bolton is close to being named Secretary of State, Corker still a remote possibility, Gingrich is out

Bolton would be an inspired choice both in terms of the temperament needed to turn around a fat, flailing and failing State Department that is more interested in being liked by the right people than in pursuing the nations interests and in the message it sends.
State is a byzantine organization with its own personnel regulations and it has traditionally operated as though it was the sole adult in the room and the president, especially when the president was a Republican, was an unruly child. Bolton has caused the Iranians and North Koreans to complain about him in the past and the Democrats filibustered his appointment as UN ambassador. His nomination would be a sign that Trump is serious about foreign policy and that hes not afraid to make enemies of the right people.
I can’t believe Trump even has Corker under consideration.
Perhaps some of you have forgotten, Bolton’s wife died on one of the planes during 9/11.
That’s just an aside, I think he’s a fine choice.
The State Department is the swamp of swamps. Lots of draining needed. And you can be sure that Bolton will not bring his own email server.
Corker is a senator from my adopted home state of Tennessee and Class A idiot.
I watch Bolton on Fox News, that causes me to see him as GOP Establishment.
Our foreign policy is truly Uniparty and has been since World War II with lots of political speechmaking and drama, but continuity in the end with Council on Foreign Relations members ending up in key posts, people with D’s and R’s next to their names.
Uniparty foreign policy was reaffirmed in recent years with Senator Corker’s Corker Bill to enable Obama’s Iran nuclear deal.
See also Hillary Clinton and John McCain, Lindsey Graham hand in hand on Syria, Libya intervention etc. etc.
Like this?
:-)
That, too.
What I’ve said all along is I don’t see Newt running a department of government. He’s never really been an administrator, and it’s not his strong suit. He’s an idea guy. I see him as a senior White House advisor along the lines of Valerie Jerrett is for Obama.
Trump surrounding himself with good and smart people.
Very good...NOT a new-con. He has fought Obama’s policies tooth and nail faithfully for 8 years. An EXCELLENT choice.
He hates the UN and pro America. Good choice but I really wanted him UN Ambassador because he truly hates everyone there.
That sounds great! Why can’t it happen?
Exactly! NO ONE wants a repeat of the pork and beans war...
Corker is such a damn McCain hand wringer
Newt has a tendency to shoot from the lip. It might be best to appoint him as Ambassador somewhere.
No shiite. He was hated back then Dubya picked him and he’ll be hated more by the leftards now but he’s used to it LOL
...and Gowdy for FBI?
Or in the “Greater Ukraine” area!!!! We must stop proceeding with Noodlehead’s (Victoria Nuland’s) Orange Revolution 2!!!!
Doesn’t resemble Hillary at all, does he?
America is on the right track again.
Best choice!
Gen. Flynn for National Security Adviser
