This is thin, but it fits into everything that is being said about filling the Secretary of State position.
Source says John Bolton is close to being named Secretary of State, Corker still a remote possibility, Gingrich is out

Bolton would be an inspired choice both in terms of the temperament needed to turn around a fat, flailing and failing State Department that is more interested in being liked by the right people than in pursuing the nations interests and in the message it sends.
State is a byzantine organization with its own personnel regulations and it has traditionally operated as though it was the sole adult in the room and the president, especially when the president was a Republican, was an unruly child. Bolton has caused the Iranians and North Koreans to complain about him in the past and the Democrats filibustered his appointment as UN ambassador. His nomination would be a sign that Trump is serious about foreign policy and that hes not afraid to make enemies of the right people.
NOT GOOD!! NeoCon!!!!
Bolton is good. Bannon is good. Preibus ... probably OK, but I reserve judgment
Not that I necessarily believe this, but if Gingrich is out at State and as Chief of Staff then what’s left for him?
Corker is far worse than Bolton.
Bolton will do the job with flair.
I think the first time as President Trump I heard Bolton mention “in Bush’s term I/we did.....” I’d fire his ass.
Bolton is far from a neocon. Dont mistake his tenure in the bush admin as such
National Security advisor for Newt?
You cannot deny he has a strong resumé...
Excellent choice, if true. Bolton is experienced, tough, honest and effective. We can expect a media attack on him if he is selected.
Who’s Corker?
I know it’s not popular here but I like Bolton and think this is a great appointment. Tough, straight-talker, a smart guy with all the right enemies and a superb resume.
Folks, this is a meritocracy now. People will be selected on the basis of their overall qualifications and fit for the job, not your personal preferences or ideology.
If he executes the orders and foreign policy of the President, he will be excellent. If he wants to pursue his own foreign policy, then not so much.
We don’t want or need any neo-con artists anywhere near the administration. They all need to get booted back to the democrat party where they came from.
I hope this is true. Bolton is superb and was cheated out of his ambassadorship by the left.
I have no problem with Bolton.
He is an attack dog.
I thought about Newt for National Security Advisor as well, but wouldn’t Trump be more likely to go for ex-military who backed him?
Bolton will be more than equal to the task. Certainly better than anyone the left has put in that position over the past 50 years or so.
He;s also no fan of the UN.
