I hope that putting this under Personal/Blogger makes it OK to promote my books. Promotion as in giving them away for free.
I woke up one morning with an urge to write a book. Never wrote a book before. Knew it would have to be a Sci-Fi and it would involve the latest in quantum and information theory. Don't worry not too much quantum theory very approachable by the layman
It was the wife that told me that if I was going to write a book that I should at least make it Christian or Christian influenced. She was not initially supportive of this project and I believe that by adding the challenge of making it Christian it would put a stop to the project.
Well, that was a challenge I couldn't pass up, while keeping it orthodox, i.e. true to the Word. The theme I settled on being that at the end of the age some of the characters are being revealed as the children of God as God sees them. Main character is a young girl who is initially clueless as to what is happening to her as she is revealed by God. It is the people around her that see the effects. At the same time there is an evil in the world that wants to stop her at any cost.
There is this undercurrent of Spiritual revelation while events in the outside world rush into the last days. Plenty of spacecraft, quantum inertialess drives and light speed drives not to mention earth shaking quantum weapons. It irks me when Sci-Fi violates General and Special relativity so we don't.
I made an effort to not make the Christian parts preachy, if you know what I mean. I hope that the Christian influence remains well grounded in the flow of the story and not too off-putting but challenging to the non Christian.
There are those that will complain that it is not sufficiently orthodox or too speculative. I remind them that it is a work of fiction and I don't claim that anyone should build any doctrine off of these speculations.
Before I was done it had turned into a trilogy (it was either that or make it an 800 page book). It just kind of kept writing itself. I find that the first book is kind of slow as it mostly lays the groundwork for the second and third books. Rest assured the pace (and my writing skill, as pitiful as it is) picks up in the second and third books. These are not going to win any awards but most people that have read them find them entertaining.
They have been published as Kindle books on Amazon and all three are free to download on the 23rd, 24th and 25th of September.
If you don't like them please write a review ";^)
I don’t have a Kindle. Is there a TXT or PDF or anything else?
Thanks PC! I’ll download them all on the 23rd! I’ve always wanted to be a writer, but it’s been slow going for me.
There are free programs that read epubs. Such as Epub reader, etc. just google them.
Very kewl. Thanks for sharing that.
Amazon has a program called Kindle for PC so that you can read kindle books on your computer. It is free to download.

Thanks. I’ll check them out.

My favorite reader for my PC is the Book Bazaar Reader reads almost any format.
Question for the author I see you have all three titles on the Kindle Unlimited program. Do authors get paid at least a little bit if I get the books through my Kindle Unlimited subscription rather than waiting to get for free? Already paying Amazon may as well get them that way as any other.
Yes, I get a little via the Kindle unlimited depending on how much you read if I remember right. Getting paid is not really on my radar. I think that I've gotten about $30 from all the books over the last six months. This is more about just saying that I've written and published a book. If any of you are out there thinking about writing a book, just do it! If you've got any questions about the process I can tell you where some of the pitfalls are in getting it to Kindle.
.
Can you please post them on an alternate site? Amazon does not see a “Kindle device” or reader on this machine (Linux OS) and the Kindle-for-PC only works on the ‘doze platform so I can not even download them from the ‘zon site.
Or, if it’s not too much trouble, feel free to send them to this machine or FReepamail a link and I can transfer them to a format that others can read at their leisure on any machine(s).
Cheers.
If you’ve got the time, ping me on the 23rd, 24th or 25th. I’d like to take a look. Thanks, Mame
..
I have never written a kindle book, but I can give you pitfalls...
Formatting and editing.
Some great stories or narratives made almost unreadable due to just those two issues.
Ping for later
Sorry, no. Contract will not allow at this time. Though perhaps in a couple months I’ll come back and offer them in another format.
Sorry to hear that. However, you can (perhaps) post links to an e-book format if your contract does not disallow and as long as those (non Amazon-linked) files are accessible then they can still be translated / exported to other formats.
If you are truly not interested in profit for your mental meanderings then I have no problem with offering you a bit of a contribution to read your writings and considering the makeup of FReepers in general you might be surprised at how many of us are willing to put up a bit of capitol to bear with your meanderings.
Just don’t be surprised if we are brutally direct in our opinions of your literary leanings and post honest opinions of your efforts now and again.
It will only make you stronger, after all.
Cheers.
:)
Here’s your ping! Free books.
Man, you are on the BALL. Thank you. I’ve ordered. Thank you for making them affordable. ; - )
