I was surprised to see that the local rag covered the story. Then I read the article, and see that “there’s no proof that any favors were received.”
This is what they are doing now. They know they can’t hide the story, so they change it so it no longer means anything.
They did that with Benghazi, IRS, emails.
Interestingly enough Carville is having a cow about the Clinton Foundation detractors. His argument is based on the end justifies the means. His point is that the foundation takes money from rich people and gives it to poor people. So it has to be good. What an elite wrong headed snob.
Here is how he got it wrong. Rich people have lots of opportunity to give to poor people. The Clinton Foundation is a leech foundation. It serves no purpose other than to get between the donors and the poor. And in doing so, it takes a toll. By paying out only 10% annually. It hires many high priced Clinton friends. And they get their donations by selling influence or access. In other words they sell their position in the US government to get a piece of the charity money. Which they can legally use to give jobs to themselves and their friends. While giving a minimal amount to charities.
Lets see how many ways this is bad. First they are selling the US government and reaping the benefit. Secondly, they are getting a slush fund which they can use to wield power by donating to causes that they want to influence or as a favor swap for something else they may want. Third, they are paying themselves and their friends with paychecks, healthcare and paid expenses for travel. Almost anything (parties, plane tickets, rounds of golf, restaurants) can be expensed back to the charity.
And of course some poor Haitian is getting 50 cents on the dollar for what was donated.
