Katie Pavlich: 'There Aren't as Many Conservatives in the Country as We Thought'
PJ Media ^ | 8-14-2016 | Christian Toto

Posted on 08/15/2016 4:40:00 AM PDT by Sir Napsalot

The weekend's last RedState Gathering panel tried to keep a stiff upper lip in the face of the Trump Revolution.

Only reality kept getting in the way.

Katie Pavlich, a Townhall editor and Fox News contributor, spoke what was probably on many attendees' minds Sunday. She clearly didn't take any joy in putting it out there.

"There aren't as many conservatives in the country as we thought there were," Pavlich said during the last of three intellectually packed days in Denver. The rise of Donald Trump, compounded with avowed socialist Bernie Sanders, made that all too clear over the past six months.

"When people like [conservative Sen.] Ben Sasse are the 'enemy,' we're in a really bad spot," she added.

Pavlich shared the stage with Townhall.com's Guy Benson, RedState Managing Editor Leon Wolf and radio talker Erick Erickson.

The focus? Moving forward after Election Day.

No votes have been tallied yet, but the panel agreed on the outcome. Trump will lose, and lose badly to Hillary Clinton.

(snip)

The group pointed to leaders like Carly Fiorina, Josh Hawley and Sasse in particular as reasons for optimism.

"These are some good people, and they're on our team," Benson said.

Katie, there are plenty of conservatives in this country at the grassroots level. They’ve been there all this time. They’re just not gonna put up with CONservative globalist quisling puppets like you, that idiot Erick Erickson, and backstabber Ben Sasse. Katie, you and the CONservative punditry class along with CONservative politicians in CONgress are no different than any of the RINOS because all of you have the same jello spines from rolling over to the Democrats all the time.

‘For want of a nail, the shoe was lost.....’

’ For want of a perfect Conservative, the KINGDOM was lost....’

If we don’t awaken those who remember our once great country and want to get back to greatness, the whole world will lose.

Katie went rogue signing on to that anti-Trump letter.

She chose a side and now she is stuck with it.

“There aren’t as many conservatives (LIKE ME) in the country as we thought there were”.

Thank God for that!

“These are some good people, and they’re on our team,” Benson said.

What are you talking about? You are not even in the game!

If the GOP thought conservatism was important, Cruz would have been their candidate.

Just to clarify...

Lyin' Ted is not and has never been a Conservative.

They hold globalist trade and open borders as their premier values. They think those are conservative. They are wrong.

Conservatism is necessarily nationalist because it is for freedom and free markets. Globalization results in despotism because there are no opposition countries to fight against a one world system. Globalism leads to despotism. Nationalism leads to diverse approaches and checks and balances against rogue nations.

Who will be left to fight against a despotic one world government when all world regions will be under its thumb?

Answer....no one.

When people like Ben Sasse support unending illegal alien inundation, conservative has lost all meaning.

Squire to the (GOPE) king: "The peasants are revolting!"

(GOPE) King to the squire: "Yes they are."

The one good thing that has come out of the last eight years of Obomination and his INTENTIONALLY IMPOSED, self destructive misery; the uterly feckless "Republican" GOPE controlled House and Senate's TOTAL REJECTION of ALL of the promises they made to their base to get elected; their total support of ALL of Obomination's illegal "executive orders" and evil Anti-American and Anti-American CITIZEN policies; and now their total rejection of Mr Trump and the will of the American CITIZEN electorate is this:

THE TRUTH ABOUT WHO AND WHAT THEY REALLY ARE HAS BEEN IRREVOCABLY REVEALED ONCE AND FOR ALL!

The lying, false narrative that: "we are conservatives who love America and stand for conservative principles, the Constitution of the United States, and the American CITIZENS" has been destroyed because this curtain which they have hidden behind for decades has fknally been pulled back, by their own hands and actions to reveal the truth that they are phony "humbugs" who, like the Wizard of Oz, put on a magnificent magic show in order to mezmerize, fool and trick their constituents into reelecting them.

They have proven once and for all that they do not stand for conservative principles, the Constitution of the United States, or the American CITIZENS. The only thing they genuinely care about is maintaining and amassing THEIR POWER, THEIR POSITION, THEIR WELL BEING AND THEIR PERSONAL WEALTH AT THE EXPENSE OF AMERICA AND AMERICAN CITIZENS. And they have demonstrated by their words and actions in opposition to Mr. Trump and the expressed will of the American CITIZEN electorate that they will do ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING TO MAINTAIN IT, EVEN IF IT MEANS MAKING UTERLY EVIL AND CORRUPT HILDABEAST PRESIDENT AND THE ULTIMATE DESTRUCTION OF THE UNITED STATES AS A NATION.

They have revealed themselves for who and what they really are and WE WILL NOT FORGET, NEITHER WILL WE FORGIVE

Even when I was young and poor I made sure my kids didn’t have to go to government schools. You can’t keep them out of the culture but you can at least keep them out of the left’s training camps.

“...... he needs to get off the media attacks and on message fast”

I couldn’t disagree more. The media IS the root problem in this country. We are starting (just starting) to pin them on the ropes.

We will NEVER win our country back unless we defeat the media.

The media is the REAL enemy, not Hillary.

The media is the disease, Hillary is just one of many symptoms.

Trump never came out directly and claimed to be “a conservative”, he merely supported conservative, “Main St.” conservative positions. The “Never Trump” types trumpet conservative values, are “Corporate Conservatives”.

Red State supported John McCain in 2008 and Mitt Romney in 2012 who are both less conservative than Donald Trump in 2016.

Tell me again why I should listen to Eric Erickson and Glen Beck?

Can’t do anything because they had no desire to do anything. I imagine that it probably does not bother them much since the congress and their staffs are exempt.

OH sit up Katie. I was a conservative before you were born.

I still am conservative. I will die as a conservative. That I am not for open borders and ridiculous trade agreements that screw my countrymen only underscores my conservatism.

I am sooooo sick of these pukes who claim to be conservative but are really Bushies.....that ain’t conservatism

I think that what we might be witnessing in this election is the start of a third party in American politics. The structure just doesn't exist for it, yet.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least - over the next 4-8 years - to see a party for Conservative (radical) Republicans, a party for Liberal (radical) Democrats, and some sort of moderate party for the Clinton/Bush/ Pavlich/Sasse -types.

Not a dime's bit of difference between the Democrat establishment and RINOs, anyway. That's a perfect marriage.

Conservatives are nationalists, not internationalists.

Socialists are effectively the same, whether they call themselves just “socialists”, or “democratic socialists” (and variants), or “anarcho-socialists”, or communists (of all varieties), or national socialists. Conservatives reject socialism, even when it is the status quo, and seek the day when it is stripped from our society.

Conservatives are constitutionalists, almost originalists, because they reject the gross manipulations carried out on our constitution by “progressives” and socialists. Especially the embrace of minor clauses (”interstate commerce” and “general welfare”) to overwhelm the rest of the document.

Conservatives believe in limited government. As such, they can readily offer grand cuts in reducing the size and power of government. Entire agencies that are unconstitutional and thus should be eliminated unless the constitution is changed to permit them.

Conservatives believe in limiting military, intelligence, police, and commercial power within our nation. They believe that such power does have some legitimate applications, the vast majority of which should be directed at foreign citizens of other nations, not US citizens.

Conservatives insist that the corruption of science for political ends has strongly inhibited both scientific advancement and scientific ethics.

Conservatives are strongly anti-slavery, and intensely dislike *all varieties* of slavery. They truly believe that all men are created equal, and that people are individuals, who deserve to be treated with respect as long as they display civil behavior to others.
