Lena Dunham has launched a scathing attack on Donald Trump, calling the Republican Presidential candidate a "hell hound".
The Girls creator and star, who has publicly supported Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton since the start of her campaign, has been critical of the billionaire since he launched his bid for the White House.
And at TheWrap's Power Women Breakfast in New York on Thursday (09Jun16), the actress did not hold back when talking about Trump. Calling him a "maniacal, misogynist, racist, Islamophobic, ableist, transphobic hell hound", she went on to reveal she frequently laughs at the controversial politician.
"I think we all have to get used to it, we talk about it in a serious way, which is hard. I didn't think we'd be having a real serious conversation about Donald Trump. I still laugh when I see him on TV. It's not funny, it just makes me laugh," Lena explained.
The Golden Globe winning actress also confessed she was very emotional when Clinton made history earlier this week (beg06Jun16) by becoming the first-ever female presidential nominee of a major political party in the U.S.
Adding that she was "really moved", Lena stressed of the November elections, "It's a very urgent election coming up."
Earlier this year (16), Lena sparred with Trump on Twitter, after she claimed she would leave the country if he was elected President. "I know a lovely place in Vancouver and I can get my work done from there," she said in an interview at the time.
Trump later hit back at the star while on Fox News, calling her a "B actor" with "no mojo" and said it would be a "great service" to the U.S. if she left the country.
"I heard Whoopi Goldberg said that too," he added. "That would be a great, great thing for our country. We'll get rid of Rosie (O'Donnell) - oh I love it. Now I have to get elected, because I'll be doing a great service to our country.
"Now it's much more important. In fact, I'll immediately get off this call and start campaigning."
A hell hound might be the very thing we need in today’s world.
Back in 1948, while Harry S Truman was running for a full term as President, Harry had just made some statement that really touched a member of the audience, and the guy shouted out out, “Give ‘em hell, Harry!” To which Truman replied, “I give them the truth, and they think it’s hell!”
Just like The Donald now gives them the truth, and they think it is hell.
Hell hound is really a sort of compliment.

Care to explain how you know this to be the case? I think you're wrong, but then I have no real insight as to who is or isn't going to hell.
Trump takes flak from the left which tells me he is over the target. The REAL question, is the country fed up enough to change. I think they are but it depends on what day you ask me.

2ndDivisionVet is (now) supporting Trump. Pretty strongly in fact.
I have no idea why he was so insufferably for Cruz, but Cruz was not the guy, who voters eventually selected. That said, there is a section of (primarily) Texans who were very strongly for Cruz for a while. Including the poster you are addressing.
That said he is now one of the strongest posters on this site for Trump.
Lighten up just a tiny bit on him please.
