Man, sometimes I have had it with our society! I went to a lot of trouble to make some really beautiful cheeseburgers for lunch today. I toasted the buns, I sliced the onions and shredded the lettuce. I flavored the hamburger before and during cooking.
But I also put ketchup on them.
At my first tasty bite I was repelled by the overwhelming taste of sugar, an obscene amount of sugar. I was horrified. The burgers were ruined! I rushed, gagging and choking, to the fridge, grabbed the ketchup bottle and read the label. 4 GRAMS of sugar, per serving!? It's ketchup! A serving is like 8 or 10 grams. 4 grams!?! It's like tomato flavored bubble gum. YUCK!
Does anyone know of any brand of ketchup that is actually ketchup and not tomato based candy?

I agree with the Hunts.
It’s the best tasting ketchup, at least on my tongue!
My buddy made an amazing Low Glycemic Ketchup, and a bunch of other sauces, but the company grew too fast, and he was unable to sustain it. Too bad, because the recipes were really exceptional. While the company is not currently running, it could come back one day.
The BBQ was amazing.
When I lived in SF back in the 80s I used to go a small ice cream shop that made all kinds of odd flavors, including avocado. But my favorite was called American Beauty made from rose pedals. It smelled like a bouquet of roses and tasted amazing.
Just had a Wendy’s chicken sandwich and fries with some sugary ketsup for dipping. Mmmmm Mmmmm Mmmmmm! :-)
No offense but Yuck, gross, ewww.
If it wasn’t sweet it wouldn’t be catsup. You just need to realize you don’t like catsup. :-)
Sounds good. I like lemon ice cream too, it’s hard to find.
Ba-Tampte Deli Mustard. YUM!
If you want to have no added sugar or less added sugar make your own.
It is not hard and you will be able to control the amount of sugar.
Don't leave it out on the counter. The sugar acts as a preservative. Ketchup with no added sugar ferments very quickly.
I had a similar experience about a year ago. One Sunday morning after Church I made some home fries using potatoes from my garden. Took the time to season and cook them just right. I like having just a little bit of ketchup drizzled over them once they’re on the plate, but this time I was trying a new brand. It was Corina brand. It absolutely ruined those home fries! Way too sweet! Made them inedible.
When I bought the ‘new’ brand, I picked up 3 bottles. That first one went into the trash, and the other two were set aside in hopes I could give them away to somebody (so far no takers). I just went and looked, and like yours, there’s 4 grams of sugars per serving! Nasty!!!
There is only one brand of ketchup: Heinz.
The rest are impostors.
I only use salsa now.
.
It’s gotta be impossible for a person with a Spanish accent to order seltzer and not get salsa.
Just make sure it doesn't come from New York City.
NEW YORK CITY?
Get a rope!
