Proud Poppa Alert (vanity)
me ^ | 5/13/2016 | lafroste

Forgive the vanity. My son just got back from taking the ASVAB for military service. This test attempts to measure aptitude and abilities for service. The highest possible score is 99. The lowest score for a marine corp officer is 74. He scored a 97. That's the highest score I've ever even heard of. So, proud poppa alert.

What is a good GT score? I’ll check the printout when I can get my hands on it.

Good now tell him to go see the Coast Guard people.
It will be the best choice of his life.

Remember dad its his choice not yours.

Thank you for having raised an adult, a real man in this day of Caitlyn Jenners and Chelsea Mannings. Thank you also for imbuing him with a love of country.

Here’s wishing him many successes ahead!

One of my problems, as a dad, is I have a lot of trouble advising this extraordinary human. He is a fantastic pianist. He plays computer games but they are simulations about astral mechanics. He starts talking about thrust ratios, orbital mechanics and engine efficiencies. When it's time to relax, he does things like this:

That's a piece of printer paper and a piece of charcoal that he made himself. I can't do any of this. I'm scared to death sometimes.

I was in boot camp with a guy that played an instrument.Clarenet I believe(1967).
Well after boot camp I went into aviation and he want into the CG Band and remained there for 25 yeRS.
Traveled the country, played for big time dignitary affairs etc.
Never went to sea or in the air.

Plenty of choices. All ya can do is put them all out there.
