Drew Hamilton was filming bears in Alaska's McNeil River when he got a companion. A brown bear sits next to him while taking in the sites of where all bears were gathering to catch salmon. See the video here. Anybody have bears come this close?
My wife said the bear in your town was probably looking for pantyhose in Penney’s. They now carry extra extra large in support hose and they make even a female with big hairy legs look good.
Ate His Girlfriend too.
I once took a raft ride in Yosemite. As we floated along, there were people napping/tanning by the river. A bear walked out right between 2 people to get a drink. It drank, and then walked back into the forest. The people never even knew. We on the raft remained silent to not spook the bear, literally 1-2 feet from 2 people.
Samsquanches prefer avocados.
Both of you are wrong - if you watched the TV ads for Jack Links beef jerky, you’d know that’s the preferred food for Sasquatch.
As an Alaskan I know to keep my distance from bears and any other wildlife that poses a threat to my well being.
Bear looks at the guy and looks at the long walk down to the river. Bear yawns and licks his lips. Looks at the long walk down again. Bear looks at the guy and grins. Licks his lips again and thinks of dinner.
He looks hungry....
Give him a picnic basket...
Don’t believe everything you see on tv :P
Colorado?
Timothy Treadwell and his girlfriend did. They even got INSIDE the bear.
What you can tell for sure about this bear is.... he wasn’t hungry.
In the early 1970s my buddy and I were going from Banf to Jasper. Along the way we saw a brown bear just off the side of the road. My buddy wanted a picture so he got out with his bag of cookies and I had the camera. He tossed a cookie toward the bear and it came forward and got the treat. Did it again to get the bear close enough for a good shot.
After a couple of rounds of this, the bear thought things through and realized that he could get the whole bag of cookies. So he charged my friend. He tossed the bag and I got a great photo of him running from the delighted bear.
Guess it could have had a bad ending but it didn’t.
Bears? What Bears?

That'll make them associate humans with food... not a good thing for the human OR the bear...or the 'squatch!
We are in Washington. Most of our bears are pretty small compared to bears in Alaska.
One of the guys from work baited a black bear for nearly a year up in the woods where he had a second job. The first day of bear season in the middle of August; he shot the poor thing while it was eating the treat he had put our for it. To hear him talk... it was a great big bear nasty bear. He brought the rug he had made out of its hide to work.
It looked like he shot Yogi’s friend BooBoo. I have seen sheep skins that were significantly larger. After that he was known as Howard the Bear Killer. I don’t think it is legal to bait bears around here these days. Either way it doesn’t seem very sportsman like.
