Bill Kristol meets with Romney, tries to convince him to make a third-party run

…Unless, of course, you're trying to put Hillary in the oval office

Donald Trump is a boorish, horrible, human being who fails to live up to even the dismal behavioral standards of Bill Clinton. He’s also not a “true conservative” - whatever that is. This is the message being offered by the #NeverTrumpers who are hell-bent on handing the election to Hillary finding a “real dyed-in-the-wool conservative” who will run as a 2016 third party candidate. Because Trump is so odious, someone with honest-to-God “right-wing credentials” simply must be dragged into the race.

To that end, “real conservative” and Weekly Standard editor Bill Kristol has been meeting with the ultimate conservative candidate. His name is… Mitt Romney.

Bill Kristol is pro-abortion.

Bill Kristol is pro gun control.

He must be, since he’s actively trying to get Hillary elected.

You are much too kind in your assessment, frankly. He is much, much worse than you think.

Kristol knows full well Romney can’t win. But he also knows that a 3P run might siphon enough votes away from Trump to give Hillary a swing state or two, which could be the difference in the election. The POS would MUCH rather see Hillary win than Trump. That’s what this is about.

Bill Kristol?

Bill Kristol?

The name is somewhat familiar.

Didn’t used to be somebody?

What a foolish thing for Kristol to do.

For what purpose? To punish the upstarts who didn’t fall in line with the establishment? How dare we question our betters!

This is like taking the spoiled milk out of the fridge and saying, “Today it will be fresh.”

Kristol and Romney BOTH know Romney can’t win...Their whole objective is to maybe pull enough votes away from Trump so that Hillary wins....

There is no call for the guy who lost the last election to run again. And there is no basis for him running (except to steal votes) when he didn’t even bother to enter the race for 2016.

Bill Kristol needs to pick up the courtesy phone at Frontpage. David Horowitz is calling him onto the carpet.

That, combined with the fact that Kristol's worldview is closer to Clinton's than Trump's. Especially on immigration/borders and trade.

Its crystal clear that he would rather see Hillary get elected than the presumptive Republican nominee.

Kristol is a phony "Conservative," threatened by Donald Trump tackling the real issues that will determine any American future. So long as the enforcers of "political correctness," could intimidate politicians into not discussing those issues, Kristol had no need to fear exposure as the sham (Neocon) "Conservative" that he was.

Let Kristol distance himself from his avowedly pro-Trotsky father, and some of us might take him seriously.

For more on the Kristol sham "Conservatism": Neocon Phenomenon, which analyses the movement in their own words.

Because of their hatred of a political outsider (Trump), by effectively supporting whichever socialist candidate the Democrats run, neither Kristol nor Romney (nor any RINOs of a similar mindset) can legitimately say they defend the Constitution and support traditional American values, much less that they are “conservatives.”

“I don’t think of Trump as a traditional conservative but I think what Trump is, is an anti-left, anti-political correctness, anti-stupidity American nationalist. I think he may do more to break up the left than any conservative in our lifetime except maybe Reagan.” - -Newt Gingrich on if Trump is a conservative

Newt has nailed it; it is why I supported Cruz in the primary because I wanted someone I knew would be conservative, but it is also why I support Trump now in the general, because the destruction of the left is Job One, by any political and legal means necessary.

Does anybody see the supreme irony that all these supposedly conservative pundits who are all butt-hurt because Trump isn't a “true conservative” are turning to that bastion of true conservatism....Mitt Romney? Mitt Romney is not now nor has he ever been remotely conservative.
