Internal Poll Numbers Show Cruz Collapsing In Indiana
The Conservative Treehouse ^ | April 28, 2016 | sundance

Posted on 04/29/2016 4:19:09 AM PDT by Trump20162020

A CNN article today points out the internal polling within Indiana is following this consistent pattern:

[…] Cruz allies and people close to the campaign describe a budding sense of gloom, with internal polls diving as Trump mounted even stronger than expected showings in his native northeast. In Indiana, which Cruz backers once believed they were favored to win after his strong defeat of Trump in Wisconsin, Cruz’s numbers have fallen precipitously: Once leading, Cruz now trails in the state by eight to 10 points, according to a person who has seen the numbers, with Trump over the 40% mark. Cruz’s campaign did not respond when asked about those figures.

And Cruz’s buddy Jeb was no TV still attacking Trump.

I noticed that. When he needs Jeb Bush to go on TV for him to validate Cruz' conservative credentials one knows it is propaganda.

His religious will still vote for him. Otherwise they will be shamed. They will still have to choose between giving him money, their faith community money, or their family money. The old adage "win 'em, wet 'em, work 'em" comes to mind ...

You know what? He can’t drop out after Indiana, no matter what the results are. He just made a commitment to Fiorina with the VP nod, so he has to stay in until California.

The problem is, the longer he stays in the more damage he does to his political career. Staying in until California will probably doom his Senate re-election in 2018.

Cruz is really not the smartest tool in the shed.

Do you SERIOUSLY think that Cruz can beat Hillary or any other Democrat, considering that he has zero cross-over appeal to independents and Democrats, while Trump has huge crossover appeal?

...or do you think Cruz stopping Trump will lead to some other White Knight candidate showing up out of nowhere, and being able to beat Hillary? If so, who, and how will he do that with Trump’s supporters (me included) not voting for him, should the GOPe steal the nomination from Trump?

The political environment and election results in Indiana will be much more akin to that of Michigan and Illinois than to Wisconsin. It’s a no brainer.

The level of vitriol that is coming out in this campaign is shameful.

The level of vitriol in this campaign is the inspiration for my tagline. It's the healthiest thing I've seen in a long, long time.

That situation already exists but Cruz and the GOPe just refuse to lay down and admit they are dead

Perhaps the career government employee should just return to his day job

“he has been running for president for at least 4 yrs”

Yup Ted and Heidi seem to be at least as calculating as Bill and Hill. The problem for Ted is he has know clue on how to e likable. In fact to look at him he makes an effort to come across as Uriel as possible. “Did I do thaaaat?”

It’s a shame really because the conservatives of the party deserved better than that. Our revenge of course is when Trump blows up the current set of useless scum.

We have a business on the south side of Indianapolis. This year has been very different 6 or 7 out of 10 people that walk through the door mention the election and only one name, Trump.

In years past no one mentioned politics at all, our customer cross section is equally spilt between white, black and hispanic, and so is the support.

I would guess there are millions like you, and me too. I voted for Cruz to support a Texas guy. I have regretted it ever since.

And the truth is that momentum counts....the big wins for Trump generate a get on board feeling. People want to back the winner. It takes die hard supporters to go to the alls and KNOW that you are voting for someone who will never win. That changes the outlook significantly

“Cruz had been the consummate classy candidate “

That’s delusional. Cruz campaign staff was chock full of GOPe that are nasty dirt fighters. Trump did not start attacking Cruz until to things happened 1)the Cruz campaign and Ted himself started saying that Ben Carson had pulled out of the race vote for Cruz (that was a known lie at the time and effected the Iowa caucus) and 2)Liz Mair posted a nude picture of Melania.

The gloves came off at that point and Cruz and his supposed fighting crew lost it. Ted’s great effort to win was based on the idea that Trump would never do well in the south. Ted was wrong. He spent his time in Iowa and not in the states that could have gotten him more delegates. He took the South for granted. Trump did not

Cruz lied just yesterday saying there was no alliance with Katich. The man is pathological. He lies even when he doesn’t have t. He is that guy who always ran for class president because he had ‘great ideas’ and LAWAYS lost to someone who was better liked.

The establishment loves Cruz because he keeps them in power for a few more days. Trump has no strings not ties to them an is know for firing people. Cruz on the other hand is a career government employee.

Oh don’t count on the religious vote...Ted made that assumption in the south and it did not turn out well for the boy.

Time for the career government employee to return to his day job

Cruz had Walkers team working for him. Recall Walker won 3 state wide elections in as many years.

I agree with Ken

If you read the history of presidential campaigns this barely even scratches the surface of some of the ones run in the 1800s.

The difference is today ‘news’ travels quickly so everyone has access if they chose.

One has to remember that MOST folks are not paying attention to politics right now. They are busy with their lives. They will start paying attention sometime in October

...when Trump started his attacks against Cruz’s wife...

You mean when he didn't take the shot at Melania lying down?
