Actor Danny DeVito on Sunday called Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders "our Obi Wan," referencing the Jedi master from "Star Wars."
"I just hugged the man who shook the hand of the Pope," DeVito said during a campaign rally for Sanders on Sunday when introducing the Vermont senator. (Sanders met the pope over the weekend, after speaking at a conference at the Vatican.)
"We are going to go out and vote and put this man on Pennsylvania Avenue. ... Ladies and gentlemen, we are here for a hometown boy," Devito said to an audience of more than 28,000 in Brooklyn's Prospect Park.
He then led the audience in a "Bernie" chant.
When Sanders began to walk on to the stage at the rally, DeVito gave him a welcoming introduction.
"He's coming, baby. Here he comes ... ladies and gentlemen, the next president of the United States our Obi Wan."
Sanders campaigned in New York on Sunday ahead of the state's Tuesday primary.
And Danny DeVito is a grumpy Ewok.
I knew DeVito was short, but would not have thought there was that much of a height difference.
Obi Wan trained Darth Vader, so our Obi Wan would be Bill Ayers.
That’s bizarre... wasn’t DeVito republican, once? I vaguely remember him on one of those “Look at the list of Hollywood celebs you’d never expect to be conservative!” stories on the web...
Huh.
See, danny is a## height to many so we can safely say the air quality has rotted his brain
