Ted Cruz is not a Conservative (Saturbray)
www.braylog.com ^ | 4/16/16 | bray

Matthew 22:16 And they sent out unto him their disciples with the Herodians, saying, Master, we know that thou art true, and teachest the way of God in truth, neither carest thou for any man: for thou regardest not the person of men.

Conservatism seems to been driven off the tracks by the Punditocracy. In the old days of the movement character and transparency was every bit as important as policy matters. How can you be a free country when your leaders are hiding everything from you and shading the truth? If they will hide the truth about little issues who says they will not hide it from big ones?

We have two choices now and in reality the election is over and Trump has won it is just by how much and is it enough to overcome the establishment, but it is still two men. In July when we had seventeen candidates and Jeb was the overwhelming favorite with Walker right behind, I predicted Trump and Cruz due to Trump’s wall and Cruz’s ground game. At that time I suggested they should be a team with Trump President and Cruz VP for four years while he was trained in executive skills. I was wrong.

My hesitation at the time with Ted was his question of being a Natural Born Canadian and Heidi Cruz working for Goldman Sachs and making $800K/yr. Both of those are still a problem if not much larger and there has been so much more piled on top without being in the least bit transparent. His campaign makes the old Clinton war room seem open and airy. If you dare ax the most basic question you get hit with a hammer and demeaned in the vilest attacks, but enough about his supporters.

I have no idea what the framers of this Country had in mind when they decided to have Presidents born in America or by military families stationed overseas, but it seems a good idea you be born here. That said, the troubling part of the birther issue is his refusal to be transparent. Why does he seal all of his birth records and immigration documents to keep his citizenship hidden? Lay everything on the table and get it behind you rather than covering it up like Benghazi, this makes no sense.

Goldman Sachs is the bigger issue of the two and lends itself to his lack of character which has revealed itself over and over. If you have a company supporting your family which is the author of ever bad economic policy in America, how can you claim to be a defender of Conservatism? Nobody is asking you to take a vow of poverty and quite the opposite, but this is profiting on all of those years in the Bush Administration writing all of those free trade agreements. Free for the other Countries while putting chains on America. Goldman Sachs is the very last bank any Conservative would work for if they were who they say they are. How would he balance her making over a million a year if he were President or VP if he had to rule against them and for America?

Then there is the campaign, from Iowa to Colorado there is a pattern of behavior that is very troubling for a Christian Conservative. Whether we like it or not, Christians are held to a higher standard which none of us can attain, but at least make an attempt. He has a habit of taking the shortcut and then blaming someone else for his decision. The buck never stops at his desk and that is a problem.

Whenever he has an issue where he is obviously lying like claiming Carson was dropping out in Iowa, he claims ignorance while saying he is the smartest man in the room. The one he really cannot deny or explain is the half a million his Pac gave to the Carley Pac. Now he will claim he cannot communicate with his PAC and if you believe that there is a bridge in Brooklyn you may want to jump off. How was his campaign manager able to buy the partially nude picture of Trump’s wife and turn that over the PAC if there is not communication?

Why would any campaign which is continually short on cash give a rival campaign running for the same office and roughly the same polling position be given such a large sum of money? If there is any explanation give it, since the appearance is this was hush money to cover-up an affair with Carley’s campaign manager.

In the old days of Conservatism, the appearance of corruption was corruption however today it is until proven beyond a shadow of a doubt so you stall. The same old Carvile tactic. Why did the PAC give a half million and what did Carley get for that? Both PACs should tell the truth if either one of them is honest.

Then we move to Whisky Creek and Colorado with his cozy relationship with the establishment. I remember when Conservatives would vomit if they were supported by Linseed Graham, John InSain, Jeb, Georgie Will, Kraut, National Review, WaPo, Reid and the entire GOP establishment but they ignore that to promote their version of conservatism. These people are the problem and will only make our issues worse, yet they claim it will be different this time.

After Colorado when there was not a single vote cast with Cruz taking all of the delegates we heard rules, regulations and the need to educate yourselves. Having been in one of those GOP selection caucuses here is how they work. Everyone knows exactly who they are voting for before they arrive since they have been given slates of names who to vote for of which delegates will vote for Cruz.

The ones who arrive with an open mind or intend on voting for someone else are outvoted by the slate. You vote down the slate so every chosen delegate gets the same overwhelming votes, it is pure corruption. It is all carefully choreographed and has absolutely nothing to do with the people they supposedly represent, only the kingmakers who demand their voices heard.

The one I was at was ambushed by the Paulbots who got around half the delegates even though he received 4% of the Primary vote. These charades are more like the Soviet Union than America. You can bet none of those slate delegates are under seventy or been with the Party less than forty years.

Cruz of course comes out of the Colorado fiasco blaming someone else as it is never his fault. In reality his team organized all of those slates and made sure of the outcome days before they met. You can claim they had the better ground game, but that way of selecting bound delegates has nothing to do with the voice of the people and more to do with the dictates of the Party.

There is a pattern with Ted Cruz which is very disturbing. He continually will take the shortcut on the truth and openness and then blame someone else after he gets caught. It seems we have had enough politicians who fit that mold and we really do not need more of them and especially as President. If we are going to turn America around we need to begin with honor and transparency which is lacking with Ted. This is not an indictment on Cruz as much as the conservative establishment, but some questions need open answers and apparently never will. It is time for a new direction for Conservatism, it is time to Trump the entire District of Corruption.

Pray America wakes

“And you were OK with how that turned out?”

No, but some of you people only hear what you want to hear. My response to that poster was about the concept of a candidate being able to gather up a large crowd. It was the concept of a candidate being able to draw a large crowd that I commented on.

Someone had posted that Trump could gather a crowd, and he meant it was a good thing.

A poster responded that Obama could also gather a crowd, so what does that mean.

I said, that Obama won two elections because he could gather a crowd. I did not say I liked Obama. To repeat, I merely stated that Obama could draw a crowd, and that usually means, in American politics, that he can turn out voters also.

If you prefer a candidate who cannot draw up a crowd, go with Rick Santorium. He went some place and was met by one person. That should thrill you.

“People that just wanted someone to tell them what they wanted to hear - and that’s what they got.”

Everyone wants their candidate to tell them what they want to hear. That is how people make up their minds on who to vote for. They vote for the candidate that says what they want to hear.

Reagan won because more people liked what he said than what Carter said.

Reagan said what I wanted to hear, so I voted for him. Carter did not say what I wanted to hear, so I did not vote for him.

After Reagan was elected, I held my breath, so to speak, to see if he had been honest. He was in fact honest.

Reagan ran on three things: build up the military, cut taxes, and cut spending. His first few months in office, he did just that.

Every time you vote for a politician, you take a chance, because, odds are, they are lying and saying things just to get votes.

I can rule out Cruz because of his votes, some stances he took before Trump got in and forced him to change, and because he is not eligible to be president. Otherwise, he would release his U.S. citizenship verification documents. He won’t so that is a good indication he does not have them.

Now, when he says he has them, is he just saying what he thinks you want to hear?

“No that would be Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and I hope he primaries Cornyn’s corrupt patoot right back to Texas. Secondly, I do not worship the false god of The Wall Almighty as though it were a substitute for the entire rich tapestry of conservatism. “

First point: I wish Cruz had run in last primary against Cornyn for Senate. Ted would have run, Cornyn would be retired, and Perry/Abbott would have appointed an interim conservative for the Senate seat vacated by Ted.

Second point is on the mark. Hollering and complaining only get so far/

No and no. I believe he was born in Kenya because his paternal grandmother claimed to have been present at the birth. Apparently there are at least two different birth certificates from Hawaii alone. It does not matter in the slightest, however, unless you claim that Stanley Anne Dunham Obama Soetero was not his mama. SHE was an American citizen and that suffices to pass citizenship to the devil's communist Muslim spawn.

Obozo was obviously NOT thoroughly vetted. Few are. Obvious questions yet unanswered.

Academic records (sealed to date): Application to Occidental College (same for Columbia University and Harvard Law):

Did he claim foreign citizenship in Indonesia courtesy of barry Soetero on his various applications to get "diversity" brownie points?

Where did he live (specific address) and with whom while attending Columbia? Harvard?

Was he recruited by Bill Ayres who was Castro's paymaster in the US? How did he meet Ayres and Ayres' wife Bernardine the Radical Queen Dohrn? Did he know where they were while fugitives from prosecution for various murders?

Details as to his being in the charge of Frank Marshall Davis, the homosexual communist writer?

Lots more questions unanswered available on request. No he was not vetted.Sean Hannity asked these questions repeatedly in 2008 and everyone else clammed up avoid interfering with the coronation of America's first sorta black POTUS.

I want the best POTS for the USA and that is manifestly not Trump. I preferred Scott Walker but he is not now available. If he were nominated by a brokered convention (Walker and ONLY Walker) that would be an ideal result. Otherwise, either Trump (at least for now) or Cruz would get my vote if nominated. That's why. AND I respect the customary reading of the constitution which, whether you like it or not, made Obozo, Cruz and Rubio eligible: One American parent and/or birth in the US. Don't like that? Persuade the courts.

I know that you REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want to believe the Birther kool aid but it is just not tru and I won't pretend otherwise just to make you happy.

To be a liar, Governor LePage would have to be wrong and KNOW he is wrong. Apparently he has drunk the Birther Kol Aid. His fatherhood of his daughters conveys no special knowledge upon him as to NBC.

I know you are rooting for the secular foul-mouthed messiah. If you get him nominated, I will likely vote for him when his colossal loss causes Hillary's inauguration.

I won't let the insults of Trump or his supporters keep me from voting to stop Hillary but it will do no good. I am far too stubborn.

Compared to Trump’s shortcomings, I simply don’t care. Cruz should clean up his act too. Trump, however, has conducted a non-stop campaign of autosleaze and has a LOT more to answer for.

You may recall that Hillary worked directly for Alinsky where Obozo, having been about 11 years old when Alinsky dropped dead, did not. Like Hillary, he ALSO read Rules for Radicals and Reveille for Radicals.

Now it is simply a way to express a justified contempt for Birtherism no matter which leftist coined the phrase.

Two wings of commies are squabbling and you don't get it. Use their weapons against them. AND Trump is not immune.

Cruz and Rubio have never “identified as a Democrat”.

No, but they have been identified as Cubans.

Both are eligible to be president

Maybe in Bizarro World. If they're eligible, just like Obama is eligible...any third world freak can run for president.

both can beat Clinton or Sanders.

Maybe at arm wrestling.

Exactly who would vote for the Cubanadian or the Anchor Baby?

Rat crossovers? Moderate RINOs? The Miami Cuban community? The queer community? Disaffected tree huggers? SEIU? Snake Handlers?

Who?

I'm kind of partial to cast iron, with the ceramic lining.

Apparently he has drunk the Birther Kol Aid. His fatherhood of his daughters conveys no special knowledge upon him as to NBC.

No, probably going through their naturalization processes did that.

I respect the customary reading of the constitution

Try reading the unanimous opinion in Minor vs Happersett, which lays out the proper Constitutional definition, in a Supreme Court document.

which, whether you like it or not, made Obozo, Cruz and Rubio eligible

Well, either that, or it didn't.

One American parent and/or birth in the US.

The Constitution says no such thing.

I know that you REALLY, REALLY, REALLY want to believe the Birther kool aid but it is just not tru

Well, it was good enough for all the Presidents prior to Obola, I don't know why you'd want to continue wallowing in that RAT corruption and support the massive hoax they visited on the American People.

Your arrogance is staggering. You claim to know more about how LePage’s daughters gained citizenship than does their own father. Your personal views trump his real life experience. Talk about blind ideologues; you make them look open-minded.

I’ve encountered this kind of ‘logic’ before. It’s the way Obots argued in favor of Obama. Their personal beliefs trumped any and all evidence. It’s irrationality at its finest. Iow, it’s insisting the world operate according to your personal beliefs, and if the facts indicate otherwise, you merely toss the facts out the window.

Absolutely false. The term Birtherism, as you use it, is an attempt to bypass questions re facts and evidence, and to simply insist that your version is true regardless. I.e.: facts and evidence could destroy your position, so you throw out the Obama/Alinsky pejorative in hopes of stifling rational discussion.

I don’t care about the label - this is what I want in my candidate:

Posted on 4/16/2016, 6:24:54 PM by Jim Robinson

I was told yesterday that Trump is a liberal Democrat.

My reply:

Build the wall.
Enforce the law.
Deport them all.
End sanctuary cities.
End anchor babies.
Slap a moratorium on muslim immigration.
Cut the taxes.
Cut the spending.
Cut the regulations.
Cut the government.
Cut the debt.
Cut the EPA.
Repeal ObamaCare.
Get the feds out and allow health insurance to be sold over state lines.
Send education back to states.
Get a handle on trade.
Make trade deals in our own best interests.
Bring back capital.
Bring back manufacturing.
Bring back jobs.
Strengthen the economy.
Defend the second amendment.
Defend religious freedom.
Appoint constitutional conservative judges.
Rebuild our military.
Bomb the shit out of ISIS (and take their oil).

End political correctness.
Take the GOP head-on.
Take the media head-on.
Take the liberals head-on.
And win, baby, win.

All of the above on a shoestring budget compared to most of the 16 competitors he’s defeated (after they spent 100’s of millions of donor bucks).

No PACs.
No big donors.
No party support.

What’s democrat about any of the above?
What’s not conservative?
What’s not to like?

And I’ll add a few more:

Redo the horrid Iran deal.
Take a serious look at NATO.
Require our allies to pay more for their defense.

Rebuild the Reagan Coalition and attract blue collar workers by making America first again on manufacturing, trade, secure borders, economy and jobs, jobs, jobs!

Make America Great Again!

‘LePage is in error having drunk the Birther Kool Aid.’

This is a nonsensical statement. If LePage had said, ‘According to my theory of citizenship, my daughters would have to be naturalized before they could be US citizens,’ you might have a point.

But that’s not what he said at all.

LePage said that as a matter of FACT—i.e.: as a matter of historical record—his daughters had to be naturalized before they could be US citizens. There is no Kool Aid involved in relating historical facts. It’s just a matter of saying, “For the record, this is what happened.”

If I said, ‘Before I could get a prescription, I had to see a Dr,’ would you accuse me of drinking Kool Aid? Yet that’s all LePage did: he made public the factual/historical method by which his Canadian-born daughters became US citizens.

If there’s any Kool Aid drinking going on, you’re the one chugging it. According to you, what factually happened couldn’t have happened, because it violates your theory. Chug chug, man, does that Cruz-flavored Kool Aid hit the spot!

our first paragraph is discredited Birther nonsense.

So you are saying that if King George fathered a child with an American woman in Great Britain. The founders have considered that child a natural born citizen of the USA and eligible to serve as POTUS? Totally ridiculous contention, which the anti-American Marxist courts would no doubt uphold.

Cruz supporters are proud members of the GOPe wing of the anti-American globalist uniparty. Standing tall with Mitt Romney, Jeb Bush, Lindsey Gram, Paul Ryan, Carly Fiorina, Nicky Haley, Golden Sachs, The Club for Growth and the entire globalist GOPe establishment. Oh Obama and Mexico our on your side now too, congrads.
