I think he’s probably still dead
Trump clearly has early onset Alzheimer’s or other dementia.
I mentioned this a few months ago.
I saw my Dad start, I know it.
Ouch.
Now being from PA, I just have to ask does he even think through what he is about to say?
Before the Trump supporters jump on me, I know he is most likely speaking about the statue. But he never made that clear, to just the casual observer he is saying bring Joe Paterno back to life. Not bringing the statue back, P.S. note to Donald, the statue has been melted down already, if you really were outraged with the deal that JoePa got you would have done something in 2012.
Uh...what can I even say about this. ..
Just plain bizarre.
Perhaps Generalissimo Francisco Franco, too?
He can’t figure out that complicated delegate process, he asks how dead people are doing, and I am told if we don’t elect him the country is over.
I think I will risk voting for someone that, well, is maybe a little more with it, if you know what I’m saying.
Unfair. Joe Biden has been getting away with comments like that for years.

This is probably why Trump is better just making his own speeches.
That paper probably recommended he bring up Joe Paterno but he probably is not as familiar.
Kind of like when he was in St Louis and talked up the football team that “came from nowhere”—in a year when the Rams decided to leave and Mizzou had a bad season. LOL
I refuse to click on a RedState link.
Trump sometimes doesn’t finish sentences —just implying the rest of the thought. Didn’t he really mean bring back the Joe Paterno statue that was removed?
Realize it is unfamiliar to Cruzers, but Trump often uses humor in his rally talks. Don’t worry about it.
senility
maybe trump thinks he can bring the dead back to life. I know a lot of his supporters do.
Reminds me of the time in 1996 when Bob Dole told a crowd that he was rooting for the Brooklin Dodgers.
This is what Redstate is reduced to?
If Cruz mentioned ‘we should bring Reagan back,’ would they be having their hategasms?
Of course not, because anyone with an ounce of sense and without an axe to grind knows what is meant.
Also this is Pitt not Penn State. Big rivals. Like going to Green Bay and saying “How ‘bout them Bears?”.
“How’s Joe Paterno? Are going to bring that back?”
Although I’m a huge ‘Walking Dead’ fan and find the idea of ‘bringing back’ a deceased Coach Paterno to coach Penn State to a big bowl ...
as deliciously hair-raising as a Zombie Bowl might be, I think it’s pretty safe to conclude that he meant bringing back the statue. Not Joe.
RedState, eh? RedState, meaning you have to assume they lie and have to check everything they put out.
So Donald Trump knows Joe is dead but Joe’s SPIRIT is still alive. The memory of Paterno still lives in the minds and hearts pf Pennsylvanians. He’s a historic icon that symbolizes a drive to succeed. A drive to succeed is a large part of Donald Trump’s message.
Here’s what Donald said Exactly:
“I know a lot about Pennsylvania, and its great. Hows Joe Paterno? Were gonna bring that back? Right?...How ‘bout that whole deal?
Now look carefully at the words. “We’re gonna bring THAT back? ... THAT whole deal?” The word THAT means something different than HE or HIM.
Trump preceded the Paterno comment with “In America there have been few places that have been more devastated economically by our trade policies than Pittsburgh. We know that, we know what’s happened. Don’t worry we’ew bringing it all BACK! Don’t worry about it Ok? Don’t worry!”
Trump goes on to talk about how Pittsburgh has lost enormous numbers of jobs to offshoring but he assures the crowd that it’s all coming BACK. Just as Paterno’s spirit will be brought back into the population, a spirit that would not tolerate anything less than winning. The crowd knew exactly what Trump was talking about.
Trump knows what he’s doing. Once again the scumbag morons in the media are going to be reporting this blurb every 15 minutes from now to Sunday, and once again Trump will dominate the news cycle as he gets in front of the cameras and explains that the Spirit of Paterno is still alive and well in PA.
Didn’t see it but pretty sure he was talking about the statue not the man...anyone local would get that instantly.
