If Donald Trump arrives at the Republican National Convention with less than a majority of delegates bound to him, his message will be simple: I got way more votes than anyone else, and party insiders are conspiring against me to give the nomination to somebody else.
This complaint will be true, it will be valid, and anti-Trump Republicans will dismiss it at their peril.
There has been a weird epidemic of short-sighted schadenfreude among Republican insiders over the last week, as they have watched Trump's campaign blunder through the intricacies of delegate selection.
It is true that Trump's campaign is doing badly at the small stuff, and it's costing him delegates. Trump failed to organize for Colorado's complex delegate conventions, in which voters never got to express a direct preference for a candidate. He has just started the process of selecting hundreds of delegate candidates in California. He has failed to stack relevant convention committees with his allies.

So what’s he crying about?
It’s already happening...GOP legislators incuding in our state have voted to get rid of it...I believe a certain number of states passing it can mean the demise of the EC.
Delegate gimmedats.
So whats he crying about
Donnie didnt write that article, it was a well respected site/author. The whole world sees whats happening and the people are taking their sides.
No he’s not...one of the worst political writers today..only reason he has a job is because he’s supposedly a republican that always blames republicans...David brooks and John McCain type
The electoral college is a protection written into the Constitution so that the Presidential election is really 50 elections and every state gets a say.
Much like the natural born citizen clause protection, it won’t be appreciated until it is lost as well.
Maybe his people should show up.
The cry baby gets half a BILLION dollars in earned media and still whines about his inability to compete within the rules established a year ago.
It’s kind of like playing Fizbin with Captain Kirk. You just gotta know the rules!

We are a REPUBLIC. We are not a democracy. There is a difference. For a reason.
Except on Tuesdays
The GOPe is finally joining the tea party in support for a conservative candidate.
I thank trump for that.
As far as honest elections... It’s a primary. It works like it has since long before either of us was born. You can’t change that while it’s in progress.
It’s like deciding you want a vanilla cake when the chocolate cake is in the oven. All the whining and gripping is going to do is make people less hungry - it isn’t going to change the flavor or appearance of the cake.
You have to bake a different cake. Work hard to change the process and it will change.
If the process isn’t changed this election, it never will be. If the establishment and special interest bosses aren’t stopped this election, they never will be. This is a once in a lifetime chance to turn it around but we’re on the edge, about to tip into full tyranny.
Now or never.
Technically, 51 or 52. Maine (and I think Nebraska) divides its electoral vote by congressional district. Maine has 2 CD's, and can split its electoral vote.
What I find amazing is that some states have proposed to literally reverse the decision made by its citizens, if a majority of citizens in the collection of states goes the other way. That is dangerous, although as you point out with NBC, if that's what the globalists want, SCOTUS will evade the controversy or endorse the right of a state to align its decision in accord with the whole of the United States - meaning abolition of the electoral college will happen without a need to amend the constitution.
I get that sentiment but “the establishment” isn’t a monolithic fraternity and, trump supporters are a special interest group.
I have worked with my state and local party in the past. Trust me they are not as organized as you might think. Top down they are just people. Give it a shot. You’ll be surprised.
HOORAY Trump

Funny how "Cruz or Lose"ers (who may just get their wish by helping to seat Hillary, cared a lot about how crooked the whole system was for the last two elections but are willing to let it slide as long as it seems to be helping their guy - the cat's-paw of the GOPe/RNC for this election.
Trump is right.
So far, and who knows what we don't know about.
