While caught up in this Trump/Cruz war of words this weekend, impy and I were ripping up each other verbally when he privately admitted that he was not himself.
He was more testy than normal because his father had a terrible accident which destroyed one of his eyes. The eye risks infection and will need to be removed Thursday.
This Easter weekend was bad enough.
But with someone you care about being seriously injured at the same time?
Please pray for Impy's father and make a quick prayer for impy as well.
At the same time, we need to keep reminding ourselves -- that person you're debating is a human being. And not just any person either, but someone who cares deeply about the USA.
But I confess, I'm getting more polarized by the day every time someone taunts me or someone who I agree with. It will continue to stay ugly.
But I hope that all of us can at least unplug from this now and then, pray for each other, and sometimes even thank our loyal opposition for being a good person.
Me too. Prayers up.
Thanks for the update.
More prayers for your father, and prayers for you and your family. I pray all these things, in the name of Jesus Christ. Our Lord and Savior, King and Messiah. Amen Amen.
Sometimes I do not post my prayers... and I do not feel like a hypocrite because it is the Heavenly Father that does the answering.
I am thankful prayers were heard and answered. Sometimes what we pray for may not be in the 'will' of God... Best I can do is attempt to give Comfort and sometimes that is not in my ability... That means 'faith' for the purest form of Comfort from our Maker.
May our Heavenly Father keep you Impy and your father.... In Christ's Holy Name... Amen.
Praise God! Sounds like a stand-up guy. Wishing him and you all the best during his recovery and readjustment.
‘He’s alive, hes home, hes hungry. Tough old sob, just to talk to him, if you didnt know any better you’d think he just got a wart removed and not an eye.’
Hah!
It’s refreshing to hear someone talk about a man fit for Roman legends.
Thank God it wasn’t any worse than that.
Yeah, hospital delays can drive a person nuts.

‘Sometimes I do not post my prayers...’
I think most people don’t post their prayers.
It’s good that some do post-pray to make others think about it, but Jesus extolled the ‘secret prayer’.
Makes me feel sheepish every way you look at it.
Glad to hear it brother. Relieved for you.
Thanks, Impy! That’s great news!
Thank you, dearest Impy. PTL! I’m just now reading about you and your Dad’s LONG but very successful yesterday. I’ve been worried and I’ve prayed. Your description of him brought a smile to my face ... he sounds delightful! God bless and keep him and you, too.
Whenever you have time, please let us know how your Dad’s check back appointment with his surgeon went?
I’ve been thinking all must be A-OKay or you would have said something ...
God bless your brave, strong Dad.
Yes, the doctor told him everything was looking ok. He’s gotta go back next Friday for more followup. Thank you for your kind words.
He is strong, really, I’m amazed.
Glad to hear it.
Everyone, thank you again for your prayers and kind words to impy.
You guys are the best!

Of course, it’s still a different family situation.
I suppose you are already flooded with medical ‘fine print’ advice.
Main thing — I recommend clean air for his eye, plenty of eye wash close at hand [that cheap stuff they use for ‘eye cups’ is the most affordable and does the job], and plenty of vitamin A.
If your dad’s vision is too weak he needs safe walking zones, minimal tripping hazards, and possibly cushioning placed strategically. But he might already have a good routine.
FRegards ....
Does he have any vision back?
Glad to hear he’s doing well, brother.. truly glad to hear it.
The doctor told him to take bandage off, air it out I guess. And he has ointment, my uncle helps him put it on.
The left eye was irreparably damaged and the surgery was to remove it.
His right is bad since birth (he was born with his eyes closed, crosseyed or something) and he never relied on it. The best thing that could happen is if we can do something to improve the right eye, which he never looked into before.
Sounds like he’s got a long haul ahead of him... but as you said, he’s tough... my best wishes and prayers to him and your family, brother.
