Good Grief-Glenn Beck Today: Ted Cruz is "The Mormon Prophecy" Sent To Save The World from the "last of days"
Posted on March 20, 2016 by sundance
This isn’t the first time Glenn Beck has said his blessed candidate was the representative image and embodiment of his lord and savior who has arrived to save the world. Beck also isn’t the only one who believes it. Ted’s father has said something similar when he proclaimed “Ted was anointed to take control of society“.
Previously Glenn Beck proclaimed that God killed Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia to insure Ted Cruz wins the republican nomination. Today Beck proclaimed the “end of days”, and Senator Cruz as the prophecy fulfilled.
A reasonable person has to wonder how this prophetic sales pitch is supposed to help beyond a very narrow segment of the religious electorate:
UTAH – […] Beck said that he, like many Mormons, believes in a prophecy that the Constitution will hang by a thread in the last days. He said he believes that now is that time, and people like Lee and Cruz will save it.
He also said the Book of Mormon was created as a guide on how to protect freedom in our day. At the Provo rally, many responded yelling, “I believe, I believe.” (read more) [video available here]
Beck appears to be describing the Mormon belief in a White Horse prophecy

I’ve presented all the proof a reasonable person would need.
I can’t help it that you refuse to accept it.

Sounds like all of the five voices in Stabby’s head are telling him the same thing this week. :-)

I think Beck’s Magic Mormon Underwear is a bit too tight, seems to be squeezing his brains.

The last time some junior Senator whose supporters claimed he was the Messiah and was a Harvard lawyer with a questionable citizenship we got Obama. Different party, same attitude.

Makes sense, considering the fact that Beck spends so much time with his head up his ass.

Please - you stating your opinion is not proof of anything. The only thing you’ve proven is that you can dance around like Ali.
I asked in #70 about the quote YOU provided: which facet do you think is delusional. It’s a simple question; is it a,b,c,d - or maybe all the above?
And yet, you won’t answer it. I find that curious.

I answered your questions not by your standards (multiple choice or whatever that abcd nonsense was) but by my own.
Just because you want things answered your way does not mean you’ll get your way. Get used to it.

I suspect that most Mormons not in the “inner circles”
do not know THAT is one of the big secrets of the
Mormon church. These guys WERE missionaries & more
insiders than most. - I don’t know what possessed the
one missionary to allow me the privilege of reading that
book. - It has been well over 40 yrs. since that experience;
but I assure you it is true. I would also be surprised if
some well-meaning Mormon on FR did not call me a liar about
it. - There ARE pathological liars in the world. Twinkie
is NOT one of them. - All LIARS have their place in the
lake of fire. Twinkie fears God and no man on His green
earth does she fear.

What I’m used to is people making hysterical, unsubstantiated claims.
I find it interesting that when they are challenged to support their position, oftentimes they either double-down with more hyperbole - or slink away.
At least you didn’t slink away...

Mormons deny that Jesus is the Christ? Mormons have a different Christ than the one in Scripture.
The mormonic Christ is created. The Scriptural Christ is eternal, with no beginning or end.
As such, the mormonic Christ cannot save. He is just another created soul.
There are many other differences, but that's a good start.

No slinker here, no hysterics either.
You just refuse to accept my answer, even though it’s as clear as can be. What is the cause of such a mind block in you? I won’t speculate, but I suggest you give it some thought.
I think by now we’ve about worn this out, so I bid you a good day.
To: smoothsailing
You come across as someone who has Christian leanings, and yet you provide as proof of Beck’s delusion (post #66) a quote that could have been spoken in any of 10,000 Christian (Protestant) churches.
To be honest, I’m not happy with Beck’s Mormonism. However, of all the criticism I’ve heard about him, none of it is Mormon teaching/theology “per se”. It’s all mainline Christian stuff.
Which is why I call it a thinly veiled attack on Christianity. That you don’t like Beck - I get it. But I hope you understand, that Billy Graham could very well have said the same thing as in Becks quote - #66.
You don’t think Mr. Graham is delusional - do you?

You dont think Mr. Graham is delusional - do you?Well, it's certainly possible. The dear man is 97 years old, after all.
To: smoothsailing
That’s okay. I just read right here on FR a tRump supporter say that “God had his hand upon him” and that’s why he is going to be President.
I guess that means tRump supporters are as nutty as Glen Beck.

Some are, but since there are far more Trump supporters than Cruz supporters on FR, I guess a few Trump nuts are to be expected.
