“No one wants to take your guns away.” That’s been the Obama administration claim since day one. Of course, it was an outright lie. These people would love nothing more than to do away with the 2nd Amendment - and, with the death of Antonin Scalia, they finally have their chance.
According to the AP, sometime this afternoon Barack Obama will nominate appeals court judge Merrick Garland to the Supreme Court. He’ll present Garland as a “moderate” pick, and the media will dutifully parrot his position. Don’t buy it.

That’s what he wants, so he can “show” that the GOP is beholden to the NRA. I can see the narrative now, or rather, hear their screed now.

Immigration, if the issue is lost by electing any Dem or a RINO, Cheap Labor Express candidate, will provide in few short years for a permanent Dem majority. We will simply be overwhelmed by Turd Worlders and their anchor babies, as the Dems have planned since the proposal and passage of the 1965 Immigration Act.
Once that happens, we conservatives lose ON EVERY SINGLE ISSUE - guns, for sure; but also on abortion, fiscal restraint, the military, foreign policy, taxes & regulations, energy policy - you name the issue, and we lose.
Now, of course, if a decent Republican is nominated (Trump or Cruz, from the immigration standpoint), then you’ll also see a pro-2A Justice (or, at least in Trump’s case, someone who is NOT anti-gun like this guy or a Hillary choice would be) - that’s a side benefit of having a strong, pro-America President. But let’s not lose perspective - immigration is where its at.

Guess Obama thinks he can win in the court of public opinion and force the republicans to vote on him and confirm him. History would tell us that he is correct.
Not now, AMerica is focused on 2017, not Obama.
Here in the States, for some strange and inexplicable reason, abortion has become the holy sacrament celebrated by the Church of the Progressive Left.
