To those who supported Fred Thompson in '07, who are you voting for this election?

I remember the contentious back-and-forth here on FR during the 2007-2008 campaign season and many on FR were fawning over Fred Thompson's entry into the race and encouraged his attack on Mike Huckabee, who was also running for president at that time. What I would like to know from those Thompson supporters is: who are you voting for in this years in the primaries?

I supported Fred, now it’s Ted. Both really “got” conservatism and could articulate it. I donated to both campaigns.

I sat the primary out in 2008. In 2012 I voted for Gingrich and this year for Donald Trump.

Thompson lost the race when he dissed the firemen. That was a terrible optic. He knew it afterwards.

Fred Thompson in ‘08 and Cruz in ‘16.
Whether Cruz will be any more successful than Thompson remains to be seen.

If only cruz understood the first amendment, it would allow your post so much more credibility.

Though I have thought about voting Trump just to kill off Kasich for good here in Ohio.If I were in OH I would be thinking the same. Since I'm in FL and Cruz is my first choice anyway, I have the serendipitous benefit of helping to make Rubio 3rd, which will make him drop out of the race and give Cruz a better shot.

Fred Thompson was a gentleman. He particularly endeared himself to me when he smacked down that smarmy reporter in Iowa with the global warming question.
Of course, he wasn't an option by the time Pennsylvania's primary in late April rolled around.
I'm still leaning toward Ted Cruz, but attacking Trump for that weekend mayhem in Chicago was really, really stupid.

From Thompson’s Wiki page ......
He did not speak much about his religion during his campaign, saying, “Me getting up and talking about what a wonderful person I am and that sort of thing, I’m not comfortable with that, and I don’t think it does me any good.”

Certainly not Cruz-like in that regard.
I am a Christian but Cruz’s holier-than-thou behavior has turned me off of him.

Early on I supported Thompson.
I have supported Cruz the most until recently, but have switched strongly to Trump recently.

I supported Fred.
Now I support Trump.
I want someone willing to fight.
And someone who won’t have to end up peddling mortgages or boner pills on TV.
