Free Republic is so schizophrenic and rabid over Trump vs Cruz will it eat its own if the ticket out of Cleveland is Trump-Cruz or Cruz-Trump ?
I kinda agree. I think someone like Scott Walker will be called, and Cruz will have a card for the first spot opening on the Supreme Court, which Trump will appoint him to the job that he fits better into.
There is no “ineligible candidate like Cruz.”
But any such allegations would go down the memory hole, much as have the grain pyramids and Seventh-Day Adventist concerns.
A most remarkable phenomenon.
I would support Trump/Cruz, it won’t be the other way around though, Cruz won’t out “delegate” Trump and the GOPe is never going to backroom broker a Cruz/Trump ticket. If Trump isn’t on the top of the ticket because of goings on at the convention I am voting straight democratic ticket. The entire party must be destroyed if this happens, you will see a major movement to vote straight Democratic Party tickets, trust me, it’s coming, I’ve thought it through, that is where the angle will be channeled, ultimate destruction of the party, and that might mean the country soon by extension of unmitigated Democratic Party rule, but better to get on with it than live like we do now.
I can’t see Trump being second banana to anybody, even God.
I mean that other Cincinnati, Cleveland.
Correction:
Sam Whisky's Unnngh.. post.
Same here. And who'd want him? He won't be cutting any "great deals" as Vice President. He'll be attending funerals for people who aren't important enough for the President to go to.
In short, Trump has nothing to offer as VP.
I’d be at peace with that result. I think that Trump is the real outsider, and Cruz just plays the role. Cruz also doesn’t seem to care too much about the vanishing middle class.
But, as the secondary name and voice on the ticket, I’d expect he’d be brought on board and begin to focus on the core issues of the Trump campaign.
I would be fine with Cruz as VP, however I think at this point, it won’t happen. There’s too much animosity now that Cruz has blamed Trump for the BLM protests, plus Cruz’s ego is too big to allow him to play second fiddle to Trump.
Becoming fatigued by this ‘no one is pure enough’ mindset here on FR.
Cruz is just as eligible as obama is, both had non citizen fathers.
Trump is not a ‘conservative’, bla bla bla.
So who the hell do we vote for?
Who is your candidate pray tell?
Yeah, don't say that in either city. FYI
“Cruz brings nothing to a Trump ticket”
Actually, you couldn’t be more wrong. Trumps problem is with conservatives and if enough of them refuse to vote for him in the general he could very possibly lose to Hillary.
By bringing Cruz aboard he would pull enough of them to assure his victory.
All that being said, it’s a highly unlikely scenario.
STOP IT!!!
Cruz can neither be president (Article II, Section 1, Clause 5), nor vice president (Article XII, the last sentence) of the constitution of the United States.
Ted Cruz is a “natural born citizen” of CUBA who was born in CANADA!
In case you haven’t heard, Donald Trump has trumpeted this fact all during the campaign. How in the world could he now pick Ted as VP???????
I was hoping for this but Cruz has really turned me off this weekend by aligning with leftist rabble rousers and telling people like me to STFU and be silenced by these mobs. I really desperately want a candidate who sticks up for us and understands what we face against these communist mobs who have been in control for 8 years, shouting us down the whole time.
The only way I could vote for him is if he apologizes and Trump is also on the ticket. I could not vote for Cruz alone under any circumstances anymore.
There’s certainly not going to be a Cruz/Trump ticket.
Put ther Kool-Aid down and take deep breaths.
I call it the “Insufficiently Conservative Syndrome”. When you get to the point where viable people become non-viable because they attended someones birthday party you know that the movement has jumped the shark.
Cruz has 20 years of actions to back it up. Opportunist Trump could easily just be saying what we want to hear, since we have a strong history of getting people elected recently who turn on us once in office.
What if to a senario that’s not happening is a foolish and wasteful exercise.
Beer should be 75 cents in Cleveland during the convention.
