The old conventional wisdom was that Ted Cruz was too disliked by official Washington, too hard-lined conservative, to get the support of the Republican establishment. The new conventional wisdom has the Republican Party movers and shakers turning to Cruz and saying, in effect, Help us, Senator Ted Cruz. Youre our only hope.

Ah! Your piercing intellect allows you to dismiss any disagreement with you by alleging arrested intellect or malicious intent. Cruz might have remained my #1 choice but for the majority of his supporters on Free Republic.
Yes and now cruzifer has accepted a contested convention and a burning Bush!
But at least after last night I don’t have to worry about voting for him anymore!
Go Trump Go!
The fact that Cruz has taken on Neil Bush, and the rest of Jeb’s finance team, tells us exactly who he is and what he’s all about. No Bush or Bush operative would go over to a candidate who is going to be tough on illegals. The Bushes are part and parcel of the Open Borders crowd.
They have no choice.
They have to get behind Cruz, it’s either Cruz or Trump.
Trump is weak against Hillary, with Trump you get Romney 2. Like Romney was with heath-care, Trump has flipped on more issues then Romney.
With Cruz you get someone who as been fighting the Washington Cartel. Someone who has strong record of standing up for the people over Washington.
We need to win, so the GOPe has to get behind Cruz as apposed to the man who has supported Hillary and most of the establishment.
Cruz is very good tactician and strategist
CRUZ WANTS TO CUT SENIOR'S SOCIAL SECURITY: http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2016/01/31/this-presidential-candidate-wants-to-cut-social-se.aspx
Alumni, roommates, law clerks, former staffers in the George W. Bush campaign and White House (and the president himself), members of Congress and others who have known Cruz â lots and lots of people â consider him socially awkward, nasty, dishonest. httpest, a blatant apple-polisher and all-around creepy guy. You can write off a few of these critics as jealous of his success, or liberal antagonists, but all of them? There is something badly amiss here. Cruz, who so obviously lacks emotional intelligence, cannot recognize it, but those closest to him surely must see that something is awry...
OFTEN DID NOT SHOW UP FOR THE JOB HE WAS ELECTED TO DO: .
Ted Cruz the senator: Heard but not seen The Texas Republican seriously lags most of his colleagues in attending hearings and casting votes. Ted Cruz came to Washington two-and-a-half years ago pledging to be the anti-senator. But he's been more like the no-show senator. The Texas Republican seriously lags most of his colleagues in attending hearings and casting votes in what has been a Senate career long on rhetoric and short on Senate business. He's skipped the vast majority of Armed Services Committee hearings, is below-average in attendance on his other major committees and ranks 97th during the first three months of this year in showing up for roll call votes on the Senate floor. ... -Read more: Ted Cruz the senator: Heard but not seen http://www.politico.com/story/2015/04/ted-cruz-2016-senate-vote-record-117201
One of the things Cruz would like you to forget: His father fought along side Fidel Castro Research reveals his associates and former associates refer to him as a liar, oily, player of dirty tricks, a suck up untrustworthy and worse.

.
“Oh Goody. Cruz will keep the good old boys and their gravy boat afloat.”
No he won’t. Cruz knows that the minute he becomes the nominee, the long knives will come out for him. This is why no one in the GOPe has yet to file an ineligibility claim against him. They are waiting impatiently for Trump to bail. After losing Michigan last night, Kacish is done. Michigan is the first rust belt domino to fall.
Wass really funny last night. CNN is talking about the Wall Streeet Journal poll shwoing Cruz 3 ponts behind Trump nationally. The CNN panel was seriously pushing the notion that Kaisch is the only guy who has a shot at taking a wheel off Trumps carriage.
Really? Umm the name in the Poll is CRUZ Cnn, not Kaisch. It is like they are all afraid to even say Cruz’s name on CNN
It's just not fair, is it?
All he has left Trump with is Planned Parenthood, the single-payer health care crowd, the increased entitlement lobby (like AARP), ethanol junkies, the homo-comfort league and the anti-waterboarders.
Oh and also those who don't believe in cutting a dime from the federal government.
Damn the establishment and their sock-puppet Cruz!
lol
I knew how clueless they were when Jeb! announced his first proposed appointee, 90 year old Brent Scowcroft from the GHWB administration.
Actually, I knew how clueless they were when Jeb! announced.
Yes he is. While it is true that many in the uniparty do not like Cruz it is not because Cruz is anti-establishment it is because Cruz is a lying arrogant ass. All he does is grandstand to advance his career ambitions. So yeah they do not like Ted Cruz but Cruz is a member of the club, an unpopular one but still a member.
Trump terrifies the uniparty because he can't be bought, can't be bullied and speaks him mind plainly with total disregard to PC ism. Trump is so feared that even a lying arrogant ass is now acceptable to the Marxist globalist seeking the destruction of the American middle class and our constitution.
These are ads against Donald Trump, 5K and over. when you read the names below, really reconsider the outsider image of Ted Cruz.

Wow, thanks for the info. I agree with you that he’s not a popular member of the GOPe but he is one of them. You cannot take tens of millions of dollars from these people and claim you’re independent from them. These big money donors want influence in DC and certain votes cast to favor them. All of which Cruz will do as an exchange for their money and support.
He did great work advising Bush on managing the breakdown of the Soviet Union but his relationship with the Saudis was instrumental in engineering the Saddam / Kuwait debacle which haunts us to this day.
Then the question becomes, "What price is he paying for that infrastructure?" This *is* a legitimate question...
the infowarrior
As much as i like Cruz, its going to Trump - Cruz at the end of the day and Cruz is doing what it takes to flesh out an organization to pull that ticket across the finish line and win.
Of course this isn’t my bailiwick, but I don’t see the upside for Cruz to be Trump’s VP. If Trump does make President and the presidency is as awful as the pundits say it’s going to be, does Cruz want to be tied to that? I can see Cruz hanging on to principle and running this all the way through...that would strengthen him for the future similar to Reagan was in ‘76. He can truly say he is the “principled conservative” then.
