Trump: "I’m changing it, and I’m softening the position" - what is he changing and softening?

He stated this morning that he wasn't talking about H-1B:"Megyn Kelly asked about highly-skilled immigration. The H-1B program is neither high-skilled nor immigration".
So what WAS he talking about? What's his new position and how was his old position different? Will he ever tell us?

He was talking about a dozen cancer researchers.
Not 40 million unskilled workers Rubio wants.

H-1B ping. Let me know if you're not on the list and want to be added (or are and want to be removed).

I believe that Trump was trying to say he will not govern by agency regulations or executive order. This would explain the need to be flexible.

So you think English is not his first language? Or he had a mini-stroke last night? Because his words (above) and yours don't by any stretch mean the same thing.

DONALD J. TRUMP POSITION ON VISAS
"Megyn Kelly asked about highly-skilled immigration. The H-1B program is neither high-skilled nor immigration: these are temporary foreign workers, imported from abroad, for the explicit purpose of substituting for American workers at lower pay. I remain totally committed to eliminating rampant, widespread H-1B abuse and ending outrageous practices such as those that occurred at Disney in Florida when Americans were forced to train their foreign replacements. I will end forever the use of the H-1B as a cheap labor program, and institute an absolute requirement to hire American workers first for every visa and immigration program. No exceptions."

He’s got his base locked up and now it’s time to modify his message for the softer middle.
Lies, lies and more lies.
To: WorkingClassFilth
He’s had the time to do more than read high-level summaries (which is what executives do) and he’s starting to grok the details.

Sadly, it doesn’t matter one bit. If Trump’s supporters cared about his shifting policy positions, Trump would not be leading the race right now.
We’re living in a post-policy world now, folks.

Let's see, you support the only "Consistent Conservative". The one who not only voted for, but actually pushed TPA through Congress, the one would happily voted for the corker bill, the one that jumped on the raciest label being pinned on Trump so fast I think I saw sharpton blushing, the one that sides with the likes of mitt, GOPe, goldman sachs and CFG at every opportunity? Keep your "Consistent Conservative", I'm going with the liberal who will lock down the boarder, deport illegals, reverse cruz's TPP and treat our military the way they deserve.

Cruz still stands behind the 500% increase in H1-Bs, but he does now say he will suspend the program for 180 days for evaluation.
I don't understand why he can't evaluate it, now.
