TRUMP: "Outsourcing Creates Jobs in the Long Run"

Outsourcing Creates Jobs in the Long Run

by Donald J. Trump Chairman, Trump University

We hear terrible things about outsourcing jobs--how sending work outside of our companies is contributing to the demise of American businesses. But in this instance I have to take the unpopular stance that it is not always a terrible thing.

I understand that outsourcing means that employees lose jobs. Because work is often outsourced to other countries, it means Americans lose jobs. In other cases, nonunion employees get the work. Losing jobs is never a good thing, but we have to look at the bigger picture.

Last year, Nobel Prize-winning economist Dr. Lawrence R. Klein, the founder of Wharton Econometric Forecasting Associates, co-authored a study that showed how global outsourcing actually creates more jobs and increases wages, at least for IT workers. The study found that outsourcing helped companies be more competitive and more productive. That means they make more money, which means they funnel more into the economy, thereby, creating more jobs.

I know that doesn't make it any easier for people whose jobs have been outsourced overseas, but if a company's only means of survival is by farming jobs outside its walls, then sometimes it's a necessary step. The other option might be to close its doors for good.

What does Trump manufacture in China and Mexico?

It was the Swiss one, rather expensive. Bernina, wow, hadn't thought of that name for years. I couldn't think of Bristol Palin's first name when I woke up and am worried my memory is starting to go, then after I got up it came to me. There were too many threads going, 3 or 4. Not FR threads lol. You know what I mean. I wear bifocals, too, but didn't for most of my sewing days. If I'd really put my mind to it and used a threader and magnifying glass, I probably could have mastered the thing. But I just didn't like it, had to get the tension right, loaned it to a friend, she died, husband or one son called me and asked if I wanted it back because somebody close wanted it. I said let her have it.

They did so much for my son when he was growing up, took him in, really a great help to me in tough times.

I never looked at the Brother; I think that was a good brand, too. I've seen the wonderful things that can be done with sergers but enough was enough for me. They cut and overcast at the same time; I didn't know what to do at the ends to keep them neat; I'm really a perfectionist about my sewing. I've always had too many irons in the fire, too many projects going.

The KKK was founded by 4 college students at Pulaski College...They rode horses through town one night with white robes on for a prank and saw that it scared people, so they kept doing it...At first, it was to scare students who were thought to be cheating or being lazy at the college, then, when Forrset joined, it was to frighten Yankee carpetbaggers who were taking advantage of Southerners during reconstruction...

When it turned racial, Forrest left the Klan...That is the history...

I will say this: in the IT world, a PhD hardly means crap. In fact, I’ve had guys with NO degree that were better coders than guys with advanced degrees. In my experience, the best coders just “get it” and don’t need an advanced degree.

And, finally, good coders - even coders that “don’t suck” - shouldn’t be out of work that long in today’s market. You know how desperate the recruiters are to find talent? I’m a frickin’ executive and they ping me non-stop about an “awesome opportunity for a senior dev position!” Everyone’s phone is ringing off the hook. If you don’t suck, you can find a job in IT. If you suck, you complain about being replaced by offshore and attend marches instead of interviewing for your next, *better* position.

True story. ;-)

Forrest also had a late-in-life (not *quite* deathbed) conversion to Christianity.

Don’t think any thinking person would deny this.

However Donald wants the government to punish them for it.

Understood. Change is the only real constant and in that respect nothing ever changes. But circumstances do.

It gets very high marks for a low end machine.

I used to be a perfectionist about sewing.

It took all the fun out of it.

I’m lousy with garment construction but I can make curtains and halfway decent quilts. That’s enough to make me happy.

I love how you anti Trumpers have to go back 10 years when Trump was a business man and nota a politician to attack him.

Back then I thought free trade was good too. Jeb Bush was considered a good guy back then too.

I don’t understand why you think a person should never ever change ton any position everv??? BMost people I know are not the same person they were 10 or 20 years ago. That’s life.

Anyhow, if you can’t win the argument on free trade and you have to go back 10 years then it does not hold much water. I think it’s only relevant if it’s within 3 years.

You do know Cruz was for the TPP less than one year ago. Although I don’t see you posting on that. Oh yeah I forgot that’s your guy.

I admire anyone who can make a nice quilt. They take more skill to get right than one might think. I never made one.

I worked up to my perfectionism over many years. I made almost all of my own clothes, put professional touches on them, like piping for example. When my girls were little, I made adorable dresses for them. I shouldn't say everything was perfect because it wasn't. But when I wanted it just so, it was.

I never could style my own from scratch, but I would combine patterns, alter them, tear apart something I liked and use that as a pattern.

My last jumper that has holes in it, I need to tear it apart so I can make a few more when I find a machine. I threw all my patterns away when I wanted to clear out some of the mess. I kind of regret it but oh well.

Keep making quilts. People love them. So do I. My pretty one turns out was made in China. I folded it up because if they get everyday use, sometimes they start to come apart in not too long and you have to repair them by hand. It was the thread that rots over time. Machine sewn ones are probably a little more durable though if the thread was decent quality.

I worked and still managed to sew. I liked to do it in the summer with the windows open and fresh air coming in through the screens in my little breakfast room, then do my hand work outside in a lawn chair in the shade. It was relaxing for me.

You don’t have to go back 10 years ago. Many of Trump’s products from his ties to shirts are made from outsourced work. Trump himself invests millions of dollars in Chinese real estate. At some point Trumpkins need to stop being apologists for all his con-man stunts. The only way to show up a salesman, as is Trump, is to show he is a con man. Check out his scam Trump University, his pathetic defense for hiring waiters and bellhops in Mar-a-Lago because locals would not work on account of the hot and humid conditions. And don’t hold your breadth for his tax returns until he has clinched the nomination. Then go tell the NY Times Editorial Board about his “true” intent on deporting illegals. When is enough enough?

I’m not that good at it but it makes me happy.

Here are a couple of good sites for sewing and quilting, if you’re interested.

Trump awhile back was on a similar page as Cruz regarding H1-Bs. Something to the effect of “We educate these people and then make them go back to their countries, and they use the knowledge they learned at our schools to compete against us. We should keep them.”

With certain controls (not enough Americans available in certain jobs, competitive pay so as not to undercut the market, etc.) I think that is reasonable. Cruz has referenced a report saying that the smart H1-b folks we keep create more jobs - but I’ve read that others don’t believe that report.

That's what counts, making you happy. It made me feel good and gave me a sense of accomplishment. The occasional praise I got made me feel good, too.

I got pretty good at setting in sleeves, took a looooong time. Some the way they were cut made them sloppy to try to ease too much in too small a space.

Gathering and pleating were tricky, too. I usually used 3 basting lines to get the nicest gathering. Pleating I never got worth a darn without a pattern. When I was learning, my mom would always pin them for me. I don't know how she knew; I didn't see her using any guides such as a measuring tape. She sewed beautifully but didn't exactly teach me. I did take a semester in school and mostly taught myself. I took one night course in tailoring. That I wouldn't have been very good at but you never know. Why are men so good at it? Or used to be?

Thank you for the sewing sites. I jotted them down and will try to take a look at them tomorrow. It's time to wind down for tonight.

Seeing as he admits that it contributes “to the demise of American businesses”, “Americans lose jobs,” and “global outsourcing,” your example is unrelated to the subject of this blog.

Since we are talking about the past.

It was Cruz who recommended John Roberts 10 years ago.

This was while he was working for W Bush that he never mentions.

Cruz’s wife worked for W. Bush too. Again Cruz never talks about it.

Gee I wonder why?

For the record mathematically there is no way Cruz can win.

Trump will win New York and the rest of the North East over Cruz. Trump will win Florida, Maryland, California, Oregon and and Washington over Cruz.

Cruz is finished. Stick a fork in it.

Rubio started calling Trump a con man. I see you learn well from Mr Gang of Eight Butt Boy Amnesty Conn Rubio.

The Trump school was a realestate school. How some students perform after realestate school is not Trumps fault. It does not mean everyone who goes to realestate school is going to succeed. That’s just for getting the basics down. It’s the same for college. There are a lot of people with college degrees, but not everyone is a success story. Do you think colleges are con games too?

As for Mar-a-Logo. All sorts of seasonal resorts hire people from around the world. You can go to the Caribbean and find many Europeans working there. That’s been going on for a very long time like that. Since around the 1950s. There is nothing new under the sun threre. As for if they are legal or not Trump did not personally run the day to day operations. Trump was not the one doing the interviews.

All these anti-Trump hit pieces are so refocus with little to no merit. Man you guys are desperate!
