I’m not that good at it but it makes me happy.

Here are a couple of good sites for sewing and quilting, if you’re interested.

That's what counts, making you happy. It made me feel good and gave me a sense of accomplishment. The occasional praise I got made me feel good, too.

I got pretty good at setting in sleeves, took a looooong time. Some the way they were cut made them sloppy to try to ease too much in too small a space.

Gathering and pleating were tricky, too. I usually used 3 basting lines to get the nicest gathering. Pleating I never got worth a darn without a pattern. When I was learning, my mom would always pin them for me. I don't know how she knew; I didn't see her using any guides such as a measuring tape. She sewed beautifully but didn't exactly teach me. I did take a semester in school and mostly taught myself. I took one night course in tailoring. That I wouldn't have been very good at but you never know. Why are men so good at it? Or used to be?

Thank you for the sewing sites. I jotted them down and will try to take a look at them tomorrow. It's time to wind down for tonight.
