GOP presidential contenders Sens. Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio continued their ongoing feud over immigration during Saturday night’s debate, but as the vocal South Carolina audience got involved, the pair let the insults fly. Cruz said Rubio “supports citizenship for 12 million people here illegally. In addition to that, Marco went on Univision in Spanish and said he would not rescind President Obama’s illegal executive amnesty on his first day in office,†Cruz said. “I have promised to rescind every single executive action, including that one.†Rubio wasn’t having any of that. “Well first of all,†the Florida senator replied, “I don’t know how he knows what I said on Univision because he doesn’t speak Spanish.†With that, Cruz responds to Rubio in Spanish.
Would have been better if Cruz would have said, “this is America, we speak English here!”
I wish he spoke Austrian! Like Hayek.
Asked him if he wanted to continue the conversation in Spanish.
That’s nothing. Romans had to learn Latin.

Right now say it in Spanish if you want.

One of the things I like about Cruz is he ran his Senate race and Presidential race so far without pandering on race. To me, it’s a testament to Cruz that Rubio didn’t know if he could speak Spanish and more so, assumed he didn’t cause he never heard it before.
The point is that Rubio was accusing Cruz of lying about what he had said by claiming Cruz doesn’t speak Spanish. By responding in Spanish, Cruz proved that it was Rubio, not he, who was lying.
It was good.
It was an excellent response by Cruz and completely took the wind out of Rubio’s sails.
In that sense it was important.
But if you think it is unimportant, why are you here?

Trump 2016. At least he speaks on English. I won’t ever vote for Cruz or Rubio after that display last night. Cruz is a complete mess. Rubio is too inexperienced.

Cruz proved hes American FIRST.
Rubio proved he is a two bit South Miami High UM hack who started running for office as soon as he graduated law school and is hispanic first, politician second, and American way down the list.
