Mt nephew is getting his Eagle Scout and I was wondering what is a good gift for him. He worked really hard and would like to give him a fitting gift.
I’d mount his Rump Ranger Badge in a vibrant, rainbow-motif mat.
Not knowing what his project was it’s impossible to be specific but if you can think of something that is related or connected, I think that would be most appropriate, regardless of monetary value as it will be a reminder of this accomplishment through the years. Congrats!
So that explains the tiny foot prints I have been finding in the jello.
Buy him a bible, a firearm and a copy of the US constitution.
The three things every man needs to be a profitable and worthy citizen of the US.
The Bible to lead him to the Savior and to learn how to live among men before God Almighty, a firearm to teach him responsibility and self control and the constitution to teach him free men must live and govern themselves, and the firearm again to provide him means to defend the truth and himself.
Congrats to the young man.
Was your BSA knife a Case?
Looks a lot like my old one of about same vintage. (not BSA)
Still holds a razor edge well.
He is likely a fine young man. Too bad they have so seriously diminished the award since I was a scout.
A good alternative is Trail Life, whose core values are solid, and do not go PC like the scouts.

Voter Registration Card and a NEW CAR.
I still have my Boy Scout sheath knife from 1967. The knife is about the same as in your picture, but the sheath is slightly different, narrower and with a retention strap near the pommel. I’d pass it down, but none of my younger male relatives is in the Scouts, nor a knife collector. It’ll probably be sold for a pittance from my estate (such as that is) when the time comes.

They have terrific tomahawks and greenriver knives. The tomahawks and knives are primitve but the will last a lifetinme.
Buck knives has a special engraved Eagle Scout pocket knife for $50. We’ve gotten them for all of our Eagle Scouts and they carry them. It’s a great gift.
What an accomplishment
The best swiss army knife out there. I think they have bluetooth now.
The BSA might be requesting it automatically but if not ask your Congresscritter for a Capitol flag in honor of the achievement...
A car
Rifle
...is he safe?
A rifle. Or something nice from Cold Steel.
