Trump's playbook: Fueling a rumor mill is the worst kind of manipulation of dedicated followers
Having first backed Donald Trump as he came out swinging on the campaign trail, too much has passed his lips and subsequently been deposited into the timeless archives of video to be ignored. This will most certainly bring Trump supporters down onto my neck with hatchets, but the obvious canât be overlooked.
A brilliant builder of a real estate empire, Trump has become a media manager extraordinaire over the decades. It is all based on mainstream media indolence, its willingness to receive and broadcast radical sound bites to create ânews,â even when it isnât â news, that is. Trump has demonstrated his mastery of maneuvering the media to repeat all that he says by being perceived as outrageous. In fact, Trump is anything but outrageous. He has perfected the use of shock value to garner unprecedented coverage. But it goes farther than that.
Of course he is controlling the media.
As far as the high negatives go I guess we will see if the media is correct about that.
Time will tell.
You guys rock!
Andrew Johnson was a successful tailor, Warren Harding was a successful newspaperman, Herbert Hoover was successful in mining and George H.W. Bush apparently made his money in oil. What do you mean we haven’t tried it before?
They knoweth not what they do. So thou shouldst go easy on 'em. They are mostly good folks, but they are easily led astray by false profits.
Pun intended.
Now, successful businessmen that made great presidents? Not so much. Military men (go Gilmore!) and actors apparently make the best presidents. I guess it could be argued Trump is an actor, but it was reality TV. Professional politicians can go either way.
Meanwhile in other political news, Trump never sent out shaming letters or instructed his operatives to try to shut down Carson votes during caucus night. :-)
A brilliant builder of a real estate empire.
Didn’t his father start the company?.
One doesn't.
But maybe naive followers of a Pied Piper just can't deal with facts and rational analysis, just as the denizens of a Jonestown can't resist an urge to drink the Kool-Aid.
While Cruz’ shots are mostly on the target with a couple of fliers, Trump’s looks like Spray and Pray.
The only negatives he gets are from those wanting no wall or in favor of a giant government economy.
>> What do you mean we haven’t tried it before? <<
Hey, don’t forget that James Earl Carter was a successful peanut farmer. I guess that counts as “business.”
(But Truman failed as a haberdasher. Go figure.)
Sounds like the author has seen the works of some Trump supporters here.
I love that word “haberdasher.” Makes me want to be one. “What do you do for a living?” “I own a haberdashery.” Cool.
It’s funny, of the three candidates in contention, they all have hair issues. Rubio has a combover, too. Cruz just sort of slicks his down with pomade or something. But, only Trump catches flak about his. He’s the more flamboyant about it, I guess. Doesn’t seem to have held him back, as I’ve noted several times.
That’s the way I see it as well.
Both Trump and Cruz understand the optics and how others will react and report certain statements and events.
I wouldn’t be surprised if they still talked on a regular basis.
From the article: Trump followers hoist the banner and go after the other candidate, often with a viciousness that is a liberal hallmark.
Thank you. (And add Harry Truman, a clothing retailer.)
