Think about it.
Ted Cruz 2016!
I’d read this if it wasn’t promoting that arrogant little punk Crowder.
The one decision in Iowa that has the most impact on the state and Ted Cruz walked in there, told them he will get rid of the ethanol subsidy and won.
That’s about as anti-establishment as you can get.
You suck at posting. Please do better next time.
It is Iowa people - Not sure beating Trump by 4% is some huge victory. Basically his piece of the pie came out and voted.
Let me say it again - it is Iowa and most people except for the die hards out there do not even care. Santorm, Huckabee won too and where did it get them? Just saying....Much ado about nothing.
The reason why TED CRUZ won was his ground game.
And the candidate he beat wanted to increase the subsidies to Big Corn.
True, but another analysis might say 50,000 voted against big corn and 120,000 for it.
even trump said the ethanol thing would kill him.
i was shocked.
but the outcome wasn’t THAT FAR from the polls.
not enough to make up 22 percent lead in NH.
just telling the truth. I like Cruz. but that’s alot.
are NH and SC proportionate.
Cruz has one more delegate than Trump and Rubio. I think the importance of Iowa caucus momentum is over estimated.
Cruz doesn’t know when to use government and when not to.
4 years ago, I would have agreed with Cruz about ending Ethanol subsidies. Because I questioned then whether Ethanol was reducing our oil usage at all. Now I think with cars designed to use it better, it is reducing oil usage. In which it just might be one of those strategic moves that helps our country.
We just went through an oil price spike, that would likely have been much worse had we not been buffering our usage with ethanol.
Cruz blindly is against all subsidies of any kind. I don’t want someone who is 100% principle and 0% strategic.
Ted Cruz 2016!
Hope and pray for Ted but will go with Carson. Don’t ask me why I won’t vote for Trump.
Its his ground game. He had like 2k+ volunteers in organized fashion. Trump had almost nothing. He relied on individuals acting on their own
This is an important point.
Cruz has gotten things done.
His government shutdown led to the Senate defeat of Democrats in 2014.
His break against Ethanol led to the largest RNC turnout for Iowa caucus in history— bigger than Obama 2008.
These are political accomplishments and they betray the key narrative that Cruz is too confrontational to get things done.
That proved true with Obama. That would be true with sanders.
That is clearly not true with Cruz. He has gotten things done by being determined and forceful.
Do you honestly believe that? Let’s just leave aside the question of whether he is what he claims to be. Let’s take him at his word that he’s a strict constitutional conservative. Do you really think he has the political and leadership skills to push his agenda through against a RINO dominated GOP, a leftwing Democrat party, and the leftwing MSM? As much as you may like him, there’s not a chance in hell that he would lead some kind of conservative revolution if he were lucky enough to squeak out a victory, IMO.
He won because he told caucus-goers that Carson was dropping out (which was a lie), and taking votes from Carson.
Class.
Cruz went full retard on the Bible thumpin'. That's why he won.
The Iowa voters, especially the church marms, love seeing Republicans stop by every 4 years and embarrass themselves to get votes.
We shall see how Cruz does vis-a-vis Trump in New Hampshire and South Carolina. Then we will see if the GOP really is on Cruz Control.
His Canadian charm?
Iowa went Obama twice. They love their socialism there.
Ted worked the crowd like a politician is suppose to do.
