Ever Had a Look at Ted Cruz's Resume?
The Reaganite Republican ^ | 11 March 2013

Posted on 01/30/2016 11:01:13 PM PST by justlittleoleme

You know, the emerging conservative leader in the US Senate- same one the GOP old-guard spent million$ trying to defeat- that one:

Solicitor General of Texas from 2003 - May 2008, Cruz was the first Hispanic Solicitor General in Texas, the youngest Solicitor General in the entire country, and had the longest tenure in Texas history.

Partner at the law firm Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, where he led the firm's U.S. Supreme Court and national appellate litigation practice.

Cruz has authored 80+ SCOTUS briefs and presented 40+ oral arguments before The Court

Cruz served as a law clerk to Chief Justice William Rehnquist. Cruz was the first Hispanic ever to clerk for a Chief Justice of the United States

Described as a 'superb' constitutional lawyer, the man's considerable skills and laser-like focus were on display for all last week when he took oily reptile Eric Holder by the neck and made him answer the frickin question.

In the landmark case of District of Columbia v. Heller, Cruz assembled a coalition of 31 states in defense of the principle that the 2nd Amendment guarantees an individual right to keep and bear arms.

Cruz presented oral argument for the amici states in the companion case to Heller before the United States Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.

In addition to his victory in Heller, Cruz has successfully defended the Ten Commandments monument on the Texas State Capitol grounds, the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools and the majority of the 2003 Texas redistricting plan. Cruz also successfully defended, in Medellin v. Texas, the State of Texas against an attempt by the International Court of Justice to re-open the criminal convictions of 51 murderers on death row throughout the United States.

Director of the Office of Policy Planning at the Federal Trade Commission

Domestic Policy Advisor to U.S. President George W. Bush on the 2000 Bush-Cheney campaign.

Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Texas School of Law in Austin, where he taught U.S. Supreme Court litigation Ted Cruz is currently junior US Senator from Texas. In order to win the 2012 Republican nomination for the Senate seat vacated by Kay Bailey Hutchison, Cruz had to defeat Texas Lieutenant Governor David Dewhurst -heavily favored/backed by the DC old-guard GOP- in the Republican primary runoff. In the event, TEA Party favorite Cruz crushed Dewhurst, 57-43%... he then beat Democrat Paul Sadler in the general election by a similar margin, 56-41. Cruz is also endorsed by the Tea Party Movement and the Republican Liberty Caucus.

AWARDS: "America's Leading Lawyers for Business," Chambers USA (2009 & 2010) "50 Most Influential Minority Lawyers in America," National Law Journal (2008) "25 Greatest Texas Lawyers of the Past Quarter Century," Texas Lawyer (2010) "20 Young Hispanic Americans on the Rise," Newsweek (1999) Traphagen Distinguished Alumnus, Harvard Law School

On November 14, 2012, Cruz was appointed vice-chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee. He is now spearheading efforts in the Senate to have Obamacare repealed root-and-branch...

Like The Great One Mark Levin says, re. this new wave of stand-straight-up patriots -TC, Rand Paul, Mike Lee, et. al: 'They're not perfect, nobody is- but they're damn good'.

“Someone who has principles....”

We’ve already seen what those kinds of principles produce: lawyer (check), politician (check), supported TPP (check), has a spouse who is connected intimately connected with the CFR (check), can’t remember unreported campaign contributions (check), can’t remember being a Canadian citizen for a lifetime (not even Hillary Clinton did that one)....

With this impressive resume, why has Rafael Edward “Ted” Cruz failed to resolve his eligibility problem? Why does he go by “Ted” and not his real name, Rafael?

This problem pains me to the max because, through all of this effort to be President, this great person; with all of his accomplishments, may be neutralized by a court room verdict.

Even though I am supporting Trump, Senator Cruz always has been high in my admiration. I understand those who support him so passionately. If Trump does get nominated, I want him to put Senator Rafael Edward “Ted” Cruz on the ticket. He would have to resolve the eligibility problem, because the Vice President also needs to be a “natural born citizen.” Once through that hurdle, they would be the ultimate dream team. Both would benefit from each other. The Donald would be brought light years ahead in his Conservative journey and make the best President our nation needs. Cruz will learn Trump’s skills as a leader. Then, he will use those skills when he becomes an Abraham Lincoln class President. Case closed.

Well, at least he would be a mistreated and lied about businessman, non-politician, and natural born U.S. citizen crook, instead of a foreign born crook from Canada pretending to be a natural born U.S. citizen and non-crook.

Can’t or didn’t remember he was of German stock and not Swedish? Can’t remember to honor his word to God and banged Marla (AND knocked her up!) while still married to Ivana? Can’t decide if this week he’s a demoncrat...or a Republican....or a Reform party guy....or.....? Thought Hildebeast was the best soS ever....until he has to run against her....even though she and the Chief Rapist attended yet another of his weddings? Which Bible verse was/is his favorite? Has he ever even opened the Book? He sure as Hell doesn’t live his life by it. Just who the Hell IS Donald Trump? What ONE position has he held for longer than a few months, that he REALLY believes??

“I don’t understand anyone making an issue about Cruz saying he wants to be president as a teenager.”

Oh, nothing terribly important like the Constitution and the natural born citizen clause, which requires the Canadian born citizen, Ted Cruz, to be a natural born citizen, when he is in fact a naturalized U.S. citizen. Of course, why would YOU let anything as unimportant and mundane as the Constitution and the rule of law get in the way of taking anything you want whether or not it is legal to do so?

In other words, Cruz has been cashing government checks all his working life? Never had a job in private sector? Never owned a business?

What is the difference between a Saudi born in Saudi Arabia from an American mother and a Saudi father -and- Rafael Cruz born in Canada from American mother and a Cuban father? Both equally NBC (natural born citizens)?

Canada is OK but Saudi Arabia is not OK? How about Mexico?

Rafael sounds too much Cuban. Ted is more American, like Teddy Kennedy.

“In the landmark case of District of Columbia v. Heller, Cruz assembled a coalition of 31 states in defense of the principle that the 2nd Amendment guarantees an individual right to keep and bear arms.”

That is the one that I would like to hear more about. I imagine that at the beginning each of the 31 states had their own version of what they wanted to see be the final result. So lots of management and negotiations to get all 31 states together and on the same page, and then go up against the FEDS - and win.

That type of skill would be good to have to bring some real change to Washington.

Oh, nothing terribly important like the Constitution and the natural born citizen clause.

Which has nothing whatever to do with my point.

I agree that Cruz is not a natural born citizen of the US but is not pertinent to the issue I raised.

An election, perhaps? The mooselimb greaseball loses, but the real American wins?

Admittedly, a scary proposition, given today's electorate!

Canada is OK but Saudi Arabia is not OK?

Canada is like us. Saudi Arabia is not. What part of that do you not understand?

Saudi Arabia is the enemy's moneybags, in case you haven't noticed! Not all cultures are equal, in case you haven't noticed!

How about Mexico?

Mehico is foreign, I'll grant you that. But compared to Saudi Arabia?? LOL! ¡Ay caramba!

Again, legislative. Not managerial. We have Attorney Generals all over the country that do this.

He is by all accounts a very good attorney.

Plus Cruz 'gets it' on the complex situation in Syria, regarding Russia's broader (expansionist) agenda there, and elsewhere. Trump either doesn't or is in cahoots with Putin on it. One would have to be mighty naive (at best) to support a Putin butt kissing chump like Trump.

______________________________________

Ted Cruz on ISIS, Russia, Obama, missile defense, and the New START Treaty with Russia...

"If we want to actually dismantle ISIS, we need to dramatically change course. We need a real, robust campaign that maximizes our overwhelming air advantage.

We need to focus our efforts not on trying to create friends, but on supporting our real ones, especially the Kurds in Iraq and Syria who have actually had success against ISIS."

-snip-

"We can redouble our efforts to develop the defensive weapons that neutralized the offensive Soviet threat -- particularly missile defense, which has seen a 25% budget reduction under Obama, according to an analysis from the conservative Heritage Foundation, and has been constrained by bad arms deals like New START.

We should not only move quickly to install the canceled interceptor sites Putin opposed in Poland and the Czech Republic, but also to develop the next generation of systems that will only increase his discomfiture.

These options do not entail a ground war in Syria, yet would effectively shake us free from the failed policies that have brought us to our current impasse.

These options set us on a new path that puts Putin on notice that the United States is reclaiming our traditional role as leader of the free world."

http://www.cnn.com/2015/10/09/opinions/cruz-syria-putin/index.html

**********************************************************

"I think it would be a mistake to get involved in the Syrian civil war. There have been voices in Washington eager for us to send our sons and daughters over to fight that civil war for some time. I haven't been one of them. I think the touchstone of U.S. military policy should be protecting the national security of this country."

"What we're seeing Putin in Russia do is a direct response to the profound weakness of Obama over six and a half years.

Putin views Obama as weak, as ineffective, and frankly, as a laughingstock. And, as a result, he is moving in, he is invading his neighbors, like Ukraine, he's kidnapping Estonians, and he's moving into Syria to gain a stronger foothold in the Middle East."

https://www.tedcruz.org/news/icymi-cruz-we-have-no-business-getting-in-the-middle-of-the-syrian-civil-war-goal-should-be-to-defeat-isis/

**********************************************************

Ted Cruz:
"We need a coherent plan to address both the specific crisis in Syria and the challenge posed more broadly by Putin's resurgent Russia.

The good news is that America still has options, if our leaders can summon the will to exercise them.

For starters, in Syria we can't double down on the failed strategies that have given Putin his opportunity to intervene.

We are now two years out from President Obama's proposed intervention after al-Assad used chemical weapons against his own people. ..."
