Black Lives Matter plans to boycott Black Friday, claiming that a way to spread awareness of their movement is to hurt the US economy. The group also wants "Black Friday" to be renamed "BlackLivesMatterFriday."
"Let's hit America where it hurts!" reads BLM's website. "I challenge you not to spend one dime on "Black Friday". Let's black it out, and make sure not one black face is littering the local mall!"
The group is using the catchphrase "Hands Up, Don't Shop:"
A Facebook group devoted to the boycott exclaims that "we must slow or stop the american economy around retail Goods [sic]."
It further reads, "Black Friday has been shown as a day were people put shopping before people lives and we are not ok with that especially when hundreds of unarmed people of color are gunned down by police every year with no charges filed against the police officers --we are taking black friday back from the nation and permanently renaming it #BLACKLIVESMATTERFRIDAY."

I might even visit our local mall if there were no Blacks shopping or just roaming around.
I hope this catches on, it might make malls safe to go to again. Please please please boycott McDonalds. I miss my Big Macs and Quarter Pounders with cheese.

I think all the sales that day should be renamed “WHITE SALES”, just think how much safer it will be to shop with all the Blacks boycotting.
You can’t rename it. No one has named it. The media uses the words “Black Friday “ to describe a phenomenon, the common practice of shopping the day after thanksgiving.
What days will they stay out of the mall? that’s when I’ll go.

If they don’t show up to “shop”, does that mean that I can without watching my back as I load the truck?
I expect they’ll show up to picket and harass shoppers so maybe you’d better watch your six anyway.

Yeah; good luck with your boycott, I think I’ll just sit in my truck and watch all the black folk kill each other over the so called bargains.
The stampede is always a hoot.
The word "black" here applies to a store "being in the black," in other words, making a profit. Maybe the BLM people should realize that Black Friday is a positive construct.
With people getting trampled and hurt, why not call it Black Friday Lives Matter?
