The world consoles, commiserates with France in it's time of sorrow and tragedy, demonstrating its support, at least symbolically with Gallic-themed tokens of condolences in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks.
Here is just one example, one of myriad items to show the terrorists that they can kill the French but can they create such pretty commemorative items on such short notice?
I don't recall seeing a single item like this in the aftermath of 9/11.
And no, I was not a cheese-eating, smelly Froggie yesterday unlike others who seem to have been a Frenchman, even if having to hold their nose, for a day.
Bull, massive out pouring of support.
Yeah whatever, now see between my legs.
Huh? Were you awake on 9/12?
I deem what they did with our flag to be unacceptable. If you knew anything about the US Flag Code you would know that. You either don't care about our flag or you don't care who mistreats it. So be it. Many liberals mistreat our flag too. You're in good company.
Me too.
Very untrue. This is unwarranted. We got sincere support from all over the world, now the Palistinians and other Muslim groups did celebrate but some condemned the attacks.
You’re right, of course...I misremembered the name! But my point is that it would be considered way too politically incorrect to play such a hymn after an attack from the ‘religion of peace’. Might make them mad. Remember that GWB had to walk back his use of the word ‘crusade’ within days of 9/11.
I was struck by the fact that the English weren’t afraid to use the hymn.
Yup!
You must remember we we in shock after 9/11. Social media had not evolved to where it is now. I spent my time on FreeRepublic. Everyone had their own little corner of the internet to go for news and comfort. We still have our corners, but the world can and does gather on FB or Twitter in a heartbeat.
Sadly, terrorist attacks today are alot of things, but a surprise? Not so much. It is a matter of where and when. ‘If’ is not a factor. 9/11 was akin to Pearl Harbor-out of the blue on a beautiful mornimg. Paris was yet another despicable act and it won’t be the last one.
This is just one example. There were displays across the world, and frankly any display to France today is really just part of a tradition that started on 9/12/2001, when people of many nations saluted the US.

Does the French & Indian War count or does that go to Great Britain?
:)
You’re a complete fool
You are mistaken. I remember a world wide outpouring of support and sympathy.
Sadly, the first to jump ship and show their true colors were the American democrats.
A truly JUNK source.
Paris hung banners from the Eifel Tower, “WE WILL NEVER FORGET”, in French on one vertical beam and in English on the other, both sides of the tower to see it while coming and in going.
