Safe Places To Pray For Gay Muslim American. The title asks where can queer Muslims go to pray
In the media, being queer and Muslim often seems to amount to being a victim. In articles on violence against LGBTQ people in Muslim-majority countries, or pieces on the challenges of coming out, the queer personâs connection to Islam is often used to imply that these cultures are especially intolerant. With this narrow focus on tragedy, it can be hard to understand the day-to-day lived experiences of queer people who identify religiously or culturally with Islamâparticularly the difficulty they face in trying to find communities that embrace their multiple identities.
Even within the gay community, âI am markedly different in these spaces and unable to hide the difference that I wear on my body: My brownness, my hijab, my not drinking are lightbeams signaling my otherness,â writes one queer South Asian writer in an essay for the online magazine Black Girl Dangerous. She describes feeling âsavedâ by groups like the NYC queer Muslim book club, where she does not have to make compromises. âI think itâs less about a similarity of experience and more about supporting each other,â she said in an interview. âTo be able to talk about these things without feeling defensive or without feeling like I need to explain things ... was really important to me. To have space to talk ... without feeling âtoo Muslim for the queersâ or âtoo queer for the Muslims.ââ

This article, the title actually, I didn't read the article, aggravates me to no end. With all the problems, issues, we as Americans are forced to contend with, yes, and that includes Muslims, of which I won't even acknowledge their fake hyphenated demographic because there's nothing American about Muslim Americans in the true sense of what America means, ought to mean, to consider them Americans.
The unmitigated, disconcerting arrogance that in which the liberal, gay-infested media takes up, is concerned about, not only about being gay but being Muslim as well, that's two strikes against this group,as if there's not a million things more pressing to America, real Americans to write about in this intellectually insulting utter waste of resources.
I have two comments to make to the Atlantic editorial staff;
1.Who gives a pig's rear end?
2.Tell gay Muslims who also consider themselves American looking for a safe place to pray that ISIS has several newly founded mosques for those of their group and are welcome, urged to join.

... would be any Christian church. You can pray to the REAL Creator God, Jehovah! (forget that impostor allah — satan in disguise.)
While you’re there, repent from your sinful lifestyle and turn to CHRIST, Who alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
On the roof of any tall buiding ... in Iran at least.
This well-intended article will serve as a perfect primer for ISIS/Al Qeda/Muslim Brotherhood US-based operatives for where they need to go to find these same people.
Is liberalism grand?
I’d bet Obama knows of places to go.

Wait... there's a difference?
US Soldiers Told to Ignore Sexual Abuse of Boys by Afghan "Allies"....
When you're dealing with a culture that has escaped a petri dish, there is simply no concept of a "lowest common denominator."

I never imagined a day that a serious, non-satirical article would be written about the plight of gay Muslims.
When my father was my age, such a thing was never even thought of by anyone who wasn’t insane.
I’m surprised that this was even mentioned. Gays and Muslims are both on the left’s greatest hits compilation. The last thing they want to do is point out how their assemblage of various victim groups don’t particularly like each other.
I doubt queer muslims are looking for places to pray, prey perhaps, but not pray.
Just looking for upright available butts.
I actually think the search is on for the most disaffected, weird alienated perversion victim status. My guess is that for the right combinatio untold riches, fame and political and economic opportunity exists. The ultimate victim against which there is no defense - panderability status for which there are no boundaries.
Amen. You speak Truth and Light.
Moose Limbs that are gay have an advantage. Half can pray while the other half commit sodomy. The religion’s activities are made just for this.
It doesn’t matter - their god won’t answer their prayers anyway....
I hear that the Episcopalians, Lutherans, Presbyterians, and Roman Catholics will accomodate them...
Easy to tell a gay Muslim prayer room.
Instead of the men on their rugs side by side they are in a line, bending over in the pillow munching position.
Q: Where Can Queer Muslims Go to Pray?
A: At the mothque
Hell works for me. At least, that's where their god resides.
