But it turns out that the "RCC" part of this was conclusion of the person posting the video and not in the text.
Further, the implication made on this thread that the teaching of the Catholic Church is that only Catholics can be saved is contradicted by Lumen Gentium from Vatican II, Dominus Iesus (more by implication than by direct statement, I think), and by the Catechism.
So the "unlettered" attribution is interesting, since the "letters" contradict what many are saying. As for foolish, I wonder about the wisdom of asserting what a half an hour on the web will show to be false.
And when it comes to gendering strife, well, saying what is not so rarely conduces to amity and peace.
And of course I pray for the Pope. I should probably pray more for those who accuse him falsely.
And if that is mad, make the most of it.

There was an earlier thread that was pulled. It was a rumor about the pope. I can't even remember what the rumor was - it claimed the pope said something shocking. I was taken aback, too, until I looked it up and saw that the story was a hoax. There seems to be a lot of misinformation about Pope Francis.
Pray for your pope. He needs it.

As it happens, I have enough Italian to have been able to ignore the captions, because the Italian was so simple. Bearing in mind the passages of scripture to which I referred in my first post, I heard no blasphemy. Paul says we are members of the body of which Christ is the head. In Colossians he says the body is the church. He says, "That body ye [plural] are." The pope is practically channeling Paul! You can't be connected to the head unless you are part of the body. And I Cor 12-13 and Philippians 2 suggest that we mature in grace as we interact with the other members of the body.
This seems uncontroversial to me.
The video is awesome. It has scary music. And the evil Pope is speaking ... wait for it ... Italian. ... to Italians! That is just wrong.

That’s okay, I work for Jesus and I will do as the Holy Spirit instructs.
And having doubts is OK. God does not doubt you at all and He will make himself known to you if you have an open heart for Him.
He got through to me after years of personal vacillation between atheism and agnosticism.
