What you find with this pope is that his enunciation of Catholic doctrine seems to be confined to his discourse with Catholics.

Catholic doctrine seems to be notably absent from many of his dealings with the secular world.

“We all have free will and can accept or reject the truth.”

Unfortunately 2000 years of deception has led many people astray in the name of tradition.

I don’t have to prove anything to you.

That sure doesn't sound like meekness and fear while giving your reason.

what do Catholics teach about, say, a Baptist who has been baptized by immersion in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit?

The Catholic Church recognizes the baptism of a person baptized in the name of the Trinity. The Catholic Church recognizes all baptisms in the name of the Trinity.

In fact, the Catholic Church itself doesn't baptize anyone "Catholic." When you're baptized in the Catholic Church, you are baptized as a Christian, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

I guess the truth hurts. Jesus said..

“If you abide in My Word, you are truly My disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

(John 9:31-32)

The pope does not abide by the Word of God, otherwise he would know that a “personal” relationship is what Jesus seeks with ALL human beings. And, we don’t have to belong to a “organization” (RCC) to be saved by Grace through Faith in CHRIST!

Pray for your pope, he needs it.

I do know that most (if not all) Protestant denominations do not recognize marriage as a sacrament.

That surely explains why Protestant denominations were the first to capitulate and accept "same-sex marriage" in modern times.

It is dying because it does not belong to the God of the Holy Bible. This is why God exposed it over the decades.

Went to one as a kid. I do not know how many different churches we attended. My parents knew just about everyone in my small town plus my relatives lived there and we were invited to the churches. Have not been to a Presbyterian, Church of Christ, etc. the CoC minister came to speak at our school assemblies and he was great with teenagers. Did not have Mormon or JH churches.

Catholics don’t believe the Holy Bible is the Authority for human lives.

What does the Bible say is the Authority? It ain't the Bible!

"If your brother sins against you, go and show him his fault, just between the two of you. If he listens to you, you have won your brother over. But if he will not listen, take one or two others along, so that 'every matter may be established by the testimony of two or three witnesses.' If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the Church; and if he refuses to listen even to the Church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

Right – the Church.

“But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and foundation of the truth.” 1Tim 3:15

When a Muslim dies, they stay dead forever. Why is the pope not trying to save their souls?

Because he is a coward, a bureaucrat and a heretic

Hmm....

So “I didn’t see no pope mentioned in there, neither...” is penetrating insight, but my pointing out THE universally held Christian doctrine isn’t “in there, neither” is “ “poor analogy”, “misplaced analogy”, “inappropriate analogy”, “analogy that exists only in the fever-swamps of the proponent’s mind”, etc.”

How’s that work?

Actually, you're overlooking an important aspect of the parable of the Good Samaritan. That parable wasn't intended to elevate strangers and outcasts among the Pharisees at the time. The parable is an allegory, and in that parable the Good Samaritan is Jesus Christ Himself. In His own subtle way, Christ uses that parable to illustrate the limitations of the Old Law. The Samaritan -- who was an outcast among the Jews at the time -- brought salvation to the human race in its fallen state (represented by the injured traveler who had been waylaid by bandits). The priest and the Levite walked past the injured traveler because they were incapable of saving him (i.e., bestowing grace on them).

The diversion isn’t going to work. This what a lot of Catholics do, divert away from truth.

I guess the truth hurts. Jesus said..

“If you abide in My Word, you are truly My disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”

(John 9:31-32)

"Matthew 23:9 "And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven."

I am reminded of 1 Corinthians 4:
[14] I write not these things to shame you, but as my beloved sons I warn you.
[15] For though ye have ten thousand instructers in Christ, yet have ye not many fathers: for in Christ Jesus I have begotten you through the gospel.
[16] Wherefore I beseech you, be ye followers of me.
[17] For this cause have I sent unto you Timotheus, who is my beloved son, and faithful in the Lord, who shall bring you into remembrance of my ways which be in Christ, as I teach every where in every church.

It's really disheartening to see all this talk of "sons" and "fathers" infecting the church at such an early date. I wonder what a teacher would say.

Yes, I think you nailed it. When he’s speaking with the rest of the world, his words are not very forceful.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

“All Scripture is God-breathed [given by divine inspiration] and is profitable for instruction, for conviction [of sin], for correction [of error and restoration to obedience], for training in righteousness [learning to live in conformity to God’s will, both publicly and privately—behaving honorably with personal integrity and moral courage]; so that the [a]man of God may be complete and proficient, outfitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

I agree that if you take the parable out of context, that will be your primary understanding.
