A member of the Desgraciados Motorcycle Club named George Bergman appeared at an examining trial last Friday in Waco. Bergman had just arrived at the Twin Peaks restaurant last May 17 and was walking to the Don Carlos restaurant on the other side of the parking lot to use the bathroom there when he heard a gun shot.
He was detained, found to be in possession of two, small, legal knives incarcerated for hours and finally arrested. He spent 20 days in jail before being released on $80,000 bail. He lost his job and continues to suffer from injuries suffered during his incarceration. Last Friday he asked that the charges against him be dismissed because there was no probable cause to believe that he was guilty of participating in organized criminal activity.
A judge named James E. Morgan refused to dismiss the charges so Bergmans nightmare will continue. But before he left the court he read the following statement into the record.
(snip)
"I then saw one police officer in front of me just shooting wildly toward the crowd at Twin Peaks with a rifle..."
“Right down to where .308 falls. (medium).”
Interesting. The ‘small’ goes up to .25. The ‘medium’ goes down to .32!
One of the Waco bullets was classified as medium/large. I wonder if .30 would be small/medium?
Just a point to ponder but of no significance since their were no .308’s fired at Twin Peaks.
A .300 Blackout round would also have a .308 projectile, as would a 7.62 X 25. I’ll wait for the ballistics report before I eliminate anything, thanks.
I don't think a .308 round would chamber in a .32 ACP.
You do understand that .308 is only a Diameter.
Now .308 Winchester and 7.62 X 51 MM are cartridges.
And yes, a 32ACP can easily fire a .308 inch diameter bullet.
Only an idiot would attempt to chamber a .308 Winchester round into a 32 ACP pistol.
“You do understand that .308 is only a Diameter.”
Oh. So when someone says they have a .45 or .357 we don’t really know what he is shooting ...
What about a 410?
Or a .50!
.50? M2 Browning MG?
357 Herret?
45ACP?
45Long Colt?
Shall I go on?
“You do understand that .308 is only a Diameter.”
No! .308 is just a NUMBER. And most commonly refers to the .308 Winchester.
If you are specifying diameter you should say:
.308” DIAMETER bullet.
The discussion was of the Medical Examiner’s identification of the caliber of the bullets as small, medium and large.
In that context .308 would be caliber(bullet diameter) not which cartridge the bullet was fired from.
How would the ME know that anyway.
