And?
CNN said Tuesday it is amending the criteria for candidates to qualify for its Republican presidential debate later this month, possibly clearing the way for contender Carly Fiorina to be part of the main-stage debate.
Fiorina has battled for weeks to be included in the Sept. 16 main event, arguing that CNN was relying too heavily on old polling to determine which candidates would make the top-10 cut.
Frankly, I don't get it. What does Fiorina bring to the party? She was a disaster at HP; not only did she get fired by the board the company lost half of its stock value and thousands of employees were laid off.
Now granted, she did well at Lucent -- or did she? While she wasn't there when the company nearly blew up she was in charge of the service-provider business and for that reason one has to wonder exactly how much of her guidance was involved in the decision to engage in the vendor financing scheme that detonated the firm's finances.
You do remember Lucent and the fact that by 2002 the company's stock priced had crashed to 56 cents, right? Lucent only avoided bankruptcy via an effective forced sale to Alcatel -- an ignoble fate that was brought about by outrageously irresponsible vendor financing of equipment to CLEC customers that turned out to be terrible credit risks.
Where, pray tell, is the press on her history in that regard? I count not one but two questionable corporate management stints, and while I'm not ready to indict her on her time at Lucent I'm also not going to count that as a "success" without a hell of a lot more information. Sales increases are all fine and well but if they are generated through vendor financing that ultimately blows up the company is that really "success" or should we call it something else?
This isn't some abstract thing for me either -- I ran MCSNet in the middle of that crap, never engaged in any of the stupid transactions (on either side) that ultimately blew up the tech world and half the carriers in it at the time, but I have a very long memory and there's no ****ing way Fiorina should be considered for any sort of national executive position until all of the documentation and facts related to that abject disaster are vetted and out in the open.
We haven't even gotten to HP yet.
I know she's a RINO, and frankly do not like her at all.
CNN made the girl cry.
Now they have to make up for it.
The Clinton News Network was trying to exclude Fiorina by relying upon old polls in order to facilitate PIAPS’ narrative of the GOP’s war on women.
Thanks to pressure by Breitbart, Drudge, et al., CNN caved and did the right thing.
Fiorina is a RINO but she’s auditioning for Veep by attacking Hillary (a good thing) and will take the place of some other RINO at the debate (hopefully they dump NJ Governer Crispy Kreme).
Fiorina is another Cheap Labor Express candidate
Amnesty is Death to America
I don’t trust her. She’s too PC and I agree she doesn’t have much success in the private sector to run on.
She’s a token
She was a token female executive
Now she’s a token political, figure who ran for a governor job and lost big and still has never held an elected position nor started a business of her own
And somehow there are people on this earth who listen to a speech and say yep, she’s got my vote for President
At this point, the only reason anyone could possibly vote for her is that 1. woman 2. outsider 3. did well in first debate
Her negatives 1. poor executive experience
At least she could properly explain what it means to wipe a hard drive.
Carly Fiorina is the anti-Hillary in this strategic game. While some have tearfully griped at the apparent lack of conservative credentials on the part of Fiorina, she does bring something that none of the other Republican contenders has - girl parts.
Inclusion of Fiorina in the debate largely limits the effects of a “war on women” as being exclusively a Republican strategy.
The Democrat war on women is much more widespread and pervasive, just as their suppression of blacks is equally as oppressive to the aspirations of any middle-class values.
I agree, and have been saying that for a long time, but there are some people who just refuse to take their blinders off, just because she attacks Hillary and can talk a mean game.
How'd that work out for Sarah Palin?
I did not say that the Republicans do not play their own side game of “Be a good girl and sit down now.”
The Democrats have been at it a lot longer and keep the game more nuanced. Or sometimes not so nuanced, as when they snatched the coronation away from Herself, Madame Benghazi, the Cold and Joyless, in 2008, to give the nod to another of the “oppressed” Democrat coalition.
Knowing that Carly was an avid McCain supporter is all I need to know about her.
She stinks!
She’s another backup RINO held in reserve by the GOPee.
“Carly was an avid McCain supporter”
As was Trump, and he supported Hillary too.
Good point!
This is all anyone needs to know about her. IMO she’s taking up valuable space - now she will probably suck the air out of the debate going after Trump when we need to hear from the few candidates who are actually qualified and can save this country.

When I initially read this on The Market-ticker, among the comments accompanying it were those by people who had worked at HP or contractors who were associated with HP and/or Compaq.
None of them had anything complimentary to say about Carly Fiorina.
My reasons for not supporting her have nothing to do with her time at HP. I don’t think she’s a real conservative - she’s a California conservative - and I don’t think she is offering any real solutions. She seems to be interviewing more for the veep spot than the top spot and I don’t see what she brings to the ticket.
