Every day the media is filled with talking heads perplexed by the phenomenal success of The Donald.
Theyve no idea what is fueling his popularity, which in itself is indicative of their disconnect from the reality of our day-to-day existence. With a new poll showing The Donald in the lead among Republican candidates with a 40% share, heads are beginning to explode and shaky legs are beginning to crumble under the pollsters.
This is real. Im having trouble processing it. Like, my legs are shaking. - Time
The only people more surprised about the appeal of The Donald than the media are members of the GOP elite (GOPe), the so called establishment and their consultants. The Ace of Spades addressed this the other day:
The vaunted consultant class does not know the most elemental things about the "constituency" they're paid to advise clients about. I put "constituency" in quotes because it's quite plain they do not consider the actual grassroots voter as their constituency. In fact, they do not consider them at all.
So I thought Id take a minute today to explain why a billionaire real estate mogul, TV celebrity and oft-accused demagogue who has never held office (is) leading the Republican field with some 22% [40% now] support in the polls? Its really quite simple: in the words of one of Frank Luntz focus group participants:
"We've got to show the Republicans that we've had it with them, that we will not be there every single time. They treat us like crap and they lie to us and promise us things and then they expect us to vote again,"
And with every indication that the GOPe powers-that-be intend to cram another moderate member of the Washington party down our throats, the natives are prepared to go Roman. They want change and they want it NOW. Thats where The Donald comes in.
In the field of R-word candidates, Trump stands alone. Not just because of his bombastic speech that expresses the sentiments of many other Americans. No, its because we sense that he - and he alone - has the hutzpah to grab the reins of what has been transformed into an imperial presidency under Obama and use them to reign - for the good of the American people this time.
To be a benign dictator if you will. Just for awhile, just until the Democrats realize what theyve created with their Won and hustle around to take steps to dismantle it before the R-words can do any more damage. Which they will do, of course.
He may be a dictator, butt hes OUR dictator.
The Donalds supporters expect him to use his powers to undo much of the damage that the Won has inflicted on our once great Republic. And ask yourself, would anyone else Cruz, Rubio, Walker Bush be willing to violate the Constitution in order to save the Constitution? I think not. And we sense that America needs someone who will. In order to level the playing field again and give our kids and grandkids a shot at enjoying an American life. And currently that someone exists only in the persona of The Donald: no matter how much you may like some of the others, hes currently the only guy on the podium who actually knows how to seize the power at his disposal and use it to do what he thinks needs to be done to make America great again: deport illegal aliens? Boom. End anchor babies? Boom. Get rid of Obamacare and start over? Boom. Nullify the agreement with Iran? Boom, and I do mean Boom!
Yeah, its that simple. Americans are mad as hell, and they arent going to take it anymore. We want our country back. And we dont really care how goofy your hair is as long as youll do that for us. Transform us back.
So I say yes to The Donald: the only one willing to kill the Constitution in order to save the Constitution. And I mean that in a good way.

I agree Jane. I am just responding to those who think he will, or believe he should.
And if Trump went about violating the constitution to try and enact his policies, I would oppose it as strongly as I oppose Obama.
Sorry Laz...if the enemy uses illegal tactics...it is no less illegal for us to use them. Down that road is the absolute and abject death of the Constitution.
We can get the nation back precisely by strictly enforcing and following the constitution. That’s the path...we simply have to elect people who will...and will not apologize for it, or flinch from it.
Perhaps Trump would do that. I hope he will. I will vote for him as the nominee any day and twice on Sundays over the DNC.
but if he were to begin to violate the constitution I would oppose him as strongly as I do Obama.
I would nt applaud it...I would fight it.
Read this thread. Many are advocating for it.
As I said, I would fight a violation of the Constitution no matter who did it.
I took and oath against ALL enemies of the Constitution and to Bear True Faith and allegiance to it. I intend to do that.
I hope and pray Trump would not do so. I have a concern with his temperament that he would be sorely tempted to.
I know Cruz would not.
Either way...my vote and allegiance is to the Constitution. it is what we have...IMHO inspired by God in Heaven...that makes this Republic what it is. Of course and our moral adherence to it and the God who inspired it..
TRUMP AUG 26:
The Donald's most formidable tools are the lectern (teleprompter free) and his phone.
I believe he intends to talk his opponents to death (and that's a good thing.)
What illegal tactics? The tactics aren't necessarily illegal, but tactics that ignore past traditions and things such as Senate rules and things that "push the envelope", but have not necessarily been declared illegal. And someone can pretend their actions are constitutional until someone proves them wrong./
It anything being done was clearly illegal, there would be some legal remedy. Some of it involves little more than pushing Republicans around who are too cowardly to fight back.
I see three which is certainly “too many” but not “many” (I assume 500 or so have seen the headline).
The Constitution is in a sad state with the American people and like you I see Cruz as the man that would do it the most good.
"Using the same tactics to undo much of what Obama has done, that he used to do it in the first place, is not only permissible, but totally necessary."
Obama has used illegal tactics. for us to use those same tactics would be illegal.
It is true that most in the GOP have been not only unwilling to use their constitutional authority to combat and halt it, but have been unwilling in large part to even call him on it.
That's why I say the answer is the constitution. The legal authority to stop him is already there. We simply have to elect people who will use it...or throw those bums out and find those who will.
80 Illegalities of the Obama Administration

“mrs smith... the kool aid drinkers extraordianaire are often women - and this mrs smith is a piece of work.”
I can point out that someone has let their emotions opverrule their rational faculties but I can’t “prove” it to them.
Nor can I bring myself to waste time exchanging insults with such.
...Well, I’ll allow myself one LOL!.
you got schooled and embarrassed smitty
That’s your interpretation........and not what he was inferring.
ROTFLMAOTIME!
(and I thank you for that, they’re few and far between.)
If his tactics are allowed to stand, then they have not been deemed illegal or unconstitutional. With politicians and all the immunities and exemptions they allow themselves, they can get away with a lot unless someone takes the initiative to challenge them.
And, yes, definitely use executive orders to reverse anything done by Obama that can be reversed with EOs, and even push the envelope to undo more of his damage.
There are simply areas where a president can act and little can be done about it short of impeachment, and that is almost impossible to accomplish. It's just not all neat and pretty with well defined corrective measures, and what have election victories gotten us so far? A strong president could reverse far more than any Congress we're likely to elect.
Great post. This may be a piece trying to turn conservatives from Trump, using words Trump never said.
Thank you! Thank you! I am so pleased, and you all are so kind!
He knows how to use the bully pulpit, unlike some of the candidates!
The biggest mistake in this article, is that Don Trump loves the United States and it’s citizenry. Obama does not.
“To everything thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under heaven.”
Go Trump!
Me, too. I want the constitution. He can use the bully pulpit to shame the Congress into action. That is what Reagan did...but Reagan negotiated agreements in Congress. Trump can do this...I think.
The radical Left has to be tossed out of the process. They are committed to keeping all the “gains” they got from Obama and in past years that no long make any sense. Some of Obama’s most horrible stuff was done under EO and can just be ripped up by Trump.
If he wins, I hope he picks Cruz as VP. Cruz knows where the bodies are buried and how and where to move in Government. Trump is much more able to voice his plan in a clear, clever and flamboyant way than is Cruz. He’ll have the press following him around because he’ll be so “outrageous.”
Trump does not care whose ox he gores. He’s a bully if need be to get a deal done on what he wants fixed. Cruz is an Ivy League scholar/lawyer like of personality/public image. The two of them would be good together. The leader and his government lawyer and advisor.
Cruz could keep Trump from getting impeached...overstepping what he can get away with in power. The Uniparty will be after Trump.
Cruz could review legislation put before Trump by others and now he knows how important that personal review is since Mitch lied to him and screwed him. Trump has good lawyers to help and so does Cruz. Cruz knows there no honor among thieves and that is what Congress is under McConnell and Boner. Congress is not as honorable as business where you make a deal and expect yourself and others and the courts to uphold the contract. Congress is like making deals with ex-cons. They will tell you one thing, then put something totally different in legislation. Cruz already knows which EO’s have to go. This is if Trump and not Cruz wins the nomination. I would feel safer with Trump (constitution wise) if Cruz was the VP.
"would anyone else Cruz, Rubio, Walker Bush be willing to violate the Constitution in order to save the Constitution? I think not. And we sense that America needs someone who will."
It's pretty easy to "interpret>
That's what I was responding to and I sand 110% behind it.
Yeah, I’m not especially proud of the fact that so many of my sex have taken the plunge into Trump adoration...and I DO mean adoration, to the point of posting his baby pictures, researching his entire family, etc.
As for Ann, I think she needs a husband...a place to focus her, uh, zeal.
