For the first time this year, Donald Trump tops a state poll of GOP presidential candidates in Florida.
A St. Pete Polls survey released on Wednesday shows the New York businessman with 26 percent support, with Jeb Bush in second place with 20 percent.
Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker is in third place with 12 percent, and Marco Rubio is in fourth place with 10 percent. Hes followed by Dr. Ben Carson at 5 percent, Ted Cruz and John Kasich at 4 percent, and Rand Paul at 3 percent. 16 percent are unsure or are supporting another candidate not named in the survey.

He was a good Governor here but..., no more Bushes for me (and practically everyone I know!)
Heres my hunch which Ive expressed before. Those of us born from 1940-1945, just older than baby boomers like Trump a lot. We were brought up when the US held great promise. We always expressed ourselves. Most of my peer group prepared for the future, yet we see our savings being decimated by near-zero interest rates and our safety nets unravelling And we vote!
I think it’s futile for Bush. Trump could run around with little more than a smile to win against Bush.
WOW!
That’s why Jeb is going for the Latino vote!
Lots of lib sites posters saying the same thing...despising Jeb for crying like a baby...there goes his crossover vote I guess.
Excellent, grania. Thanks for the facts. Florida is full of retirees who have to be in trouble financially by now. They too have been handed all their retirement preparation back to them on a taco. It is a scandal.
And, they vote!
Happy about The Donald. Puzzled that Cruz can’t get traction. Rubio must be being mistaken for Italian. I suggest Teddy modify his surname to CRUISE.
Any remaining good will that Jeb has in Florida is going to be somewhat diminished due to time. Today, there’s a whole bunch of younger or new immigrant voters who have no memory of or bond to Jeb Bush. He will need to re-re-introduce himself yet again, just like Miss Hillary.
Yep! Florida already had a sample of Yebbie And maybe even more important they had a sample of Yebbie’s wifey.
As was obvious in the first week of the Trump campaign, the way that Trump immediately eclipsed Jeb Bush, demonstrated the irrelevance of Jeb Bush's vaunted candidacy. That is not likely to change.
Jeb Bush's appeal was basically limited to name recognition, and avoiding offending either the media or the RNC types in Washington. Given that type of "appeal," how do you resurrect his credibility, after he was totally eclipsed in a matter of mere hours by one who understands how to focus attention on real issues?
I really do not believe that it can be done. This does not guarantee Trump's or any other particular candidate's success, to be sure. But Jeb has no where to go but down.
Bull’s eye, jimbo. T O A S T !!
Does FL have a closed or open primary?
Bttt
WOO-HOO!!
Now we know why Jeb! was campaigning in FL this week!
Name recognition LIV voters
Florida is a closed primary.
That's exactly why Trump ran. He said in 2014 he would only run, if he didn't see the right candidate come forth. He didn't. He said then, he loves what he does, and doesn't really want to give it up. But he loves America more.
Bottom line, Trump didn't see a candidate capable of fixing the problems. So Trump is going to fix them himself.
