Conservative Russians Give Moral Lesson to Facebooks Homosexual Propaganda
By Julio Severo
In celebration of the U.S. Supreme Courts ruling favoring homosexual marriage last week, Facebook launched an app called Lets Celebrate Pride, which allowed users to overlay an image of the homosexual rainbow over their profile picture.
Facebook expected many millions of its users to celebrate, but from its 1.44 billion users, just 26 million did less than 2 per cent. The fact is, the absolute majority of Facebook users did not want to get involved in the Facebooks homosexual propaganda.
Compounding the failure, there was an international reaction to this propaganda.
The strongest reaction came from conservative Russians who overlaid an image of the colors of their countrys flag white, blue and red over their profile picture.
Russian users have also countered the homosexual #LoveWins hashtag with #pridetobestraight and #pridetoberussian.
In recent years, Russia has had a strong stance in defense of traditional family values. In June 2013, Russia passed the federal law for the Purpose of Protecting Children from Information Advocating for a Denial of Traditional Family Values, or what is commonly referred to as the law against gay propaganda. It bans homosexual groups and individuals from giving children information about homosexuality. Violators face hefty fines and arrest. The government has also banned LGBT pride events and public rallies. And it regularly jails insolent demonstrators.
The Russian Orthodox Church has been particularly outspoken on the issue. Vsevolod Chaplin, a spokesperson for the church, called the Supreme Courts ruling last week godless and sinful.
People who like American-style democracy and try to reconcile it with traditional values need to have a long, hard think after this decision, he said. In part, he is right. Yet, the original American democracy was not made for homosexuality and its ideological activism.
John Adams (1735-1826), second U.S. president, wisely said, Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. America under Adams had a largely Protestant and moral population. Today, America has a government and big companies (Facebook, Google, Apple, Microsoft, etc.) that totally hate Protestantism and morality and totally love immorality and homosexuality.
Some Americans answered Facebooks homosexual propaganda by overlaying an image of the American flag over their profile picture.

Russians are lucky - they don’t live in an incipient totalitarian culture where you can’t say certain things for fear of offending and being attacked by a vicious minority.....

I would have never believed this 40 years ago. Russia is now the moral nation and the USA is the immoral nation. Simply amazing

If someone had told us, say, 10 or 15 years ago, that the Russians would be promoting traditional Judeo-Christian views of the family while the United States GOVERNMENT, BUSINESS WORLD and CHURCHES (at least a number of them) would be openly celebrating homosexual behavior, who would have believed them?

We are becoming more like Australia where it's illegal to say anything that MAY be taken as offensive. America has become Russia and Russia more American. This may be how they achieve their "One World Company, LTD".

Unfortunately, my granddaughter did just that, posted her photo with the rainbow colors, I told her that what she did was inappropriate and she protested saying that gays have a right to be happy, she’s approximately in her 30’s but she lives in that liberal bastion of Ann Arbor. I have unfriended her. (married with 2 children)

I remember in 1983 just after KAL-007 was shot down by the USSR, we had a discussion in school. We just started the school year and I was a junior. Just for craps and giggles, I posted this question out for discussion, "what if, at some point in the future, the USSR became the US and the US became the USSR? What if the roles became reversed?" Although Russia has a way to go but their people are rediscovering their religious roots along with a free market capitalist system that is more free than even ours. I think I might see the answer to my question asked long ago in 1983.

It is a shame that is going on, it reminds me of the days prior to the Civil War. I have no problem if they want to marry, yeah, I'll admit they deserve to be happy, but for those who do not share their values, they have the right to live their lives too. It is like the pendulum has swung from one way to another. I can understand how many :LGBT's can be angry, in many cases, they got the short end of the stick in certain circumstances. Fine, for the most part, that has been corrected, but it is equally bad to give those that oppose them the short end of the stick too by doing the same thing to them that was down to them in the past. The pendulum, at least in our nation, needs to be in the middle, both sides get most of what they want but people have the right to disagree and not participate if thy don't want to. I admit I'm a libertarian, I get it from both sides at times, but this is something the Constitution rules where it should rest with the States and people to decide for themselves. I have friends on both side of the issue. No one should be bullied on either side and since the momentum is on the LGBT side, there are radical elements that keep pushing. If people are pushed into a corner, can can see a civil war and backlash where people of all sides will get hurt or worse. Shame we can't all just live our lives in peace and just go on. If the LGBT side does not want to be pushed and demonized, that is fine and should not happen but they should not push those who have strong religious values either.
Even so, there is a side of me where this issue was the perfect one to divert attention from them passing the TPP ObamaTrade bill.
Frankly, I don't care if one is gay or straight as long as they believe in a small government, State's rights and the rights of everyone to be left alone to their lives as long as they do not hurt others. Also, what should be in the bedroom stays there, that goes for everyone.

Think that 2 % world wide translates to about 5 % of Americans. That is what I saw. About 5 % of US accounts at peak.
