Something is coming. I dont know what. But we must be ready. Heres the key question: Is America heading towards a terrible implosion or a great awakening?
I feel a tremendous sense of urgency about this column.
The United States is hurtling towards severe trouble, and the events of the past few months and what may be coming over the next few months grieves me a great deal.
Something is coming. I dont know what. But we all must be ready in every possible way.
Consider where we are in the summer of 2015:
Violence is exploding in our cities, schools and churches. The horrific mass murder inside the church in Charleston would be bad enough if it wasnt just one of innumerable mass killings that have become epidemic in America.
Racism is tearing us apart, and it appears things are getting worse, not better.
The Supreme Court is poised to rule any day now on the definition and future of marriage and if the Court rules against Biblical marriage I believe this could cause the Lords hand to turn against our country in a severe and profound way according to the moral laws found in Romans chapter one.
Abortions are occurring at more than one million in year and have put America on the fast track to judgment. Since 1973, Americans have murdered 57 million children through abortions. The blood of 57 million babies is crying out for justice, and they will get it in Gods sovereign timing. Could that be soon?
If all this wasnt bad enough, marriages and families are imploding all around us. Poverty is growing. Drug and alcohol use is epidemic. And thats just here at home.
Abroad, Iran is closing in on The Bomb.

Let’s not excuse the false use of a word just because that false use causes some people to live right.
Saying “Soon” when it isn’t “Soon” is a lie. A sin, even if a convenient, useful sin.
There has been no horn blowing. No bowl unleashed.
It’s not a false word. In the Greek, it is the word “tachu” (see Strong’s #G5035) which is interpreted as “shortly, that is, without delay, soon, or (by surprise) suddenly, or (by implication of ease) readily: - lightly, quickly.”
You’d better check your bible.
The issue isn’t the Bible, it’s the human misuse of the word “Soon” in this thread.
You *want* to believe that we are close, very, very close...but you don’t know the first Sign.
Which is to say, we aren’t close.
You are misreading scripture. He is coming “Soon” after certain things happen, not “Soon” as in this lifetime, next year, or tomorrow.
...but I believe that you *know* that you are misreading scripture. You want people to behave today as if He is returning tomorrow, so you let your little “Soon” lie slide.
Because it benefits you.
Hmmmm ..?? “Coming soon”.
I believe it was Jesus’ disciples who also claimed “Jesus was coming soon”; and this occurred shortly after his death two thousand years ago.
Don’t worry; the Bible clearly says that “the father knows” when Jesus will return .. and until then I’ll keep reminding people there is still a little time to get your ticket to heaven.
Paul taught imminency ... but in his day the signs we have in our day could not have even been seen. Our global communications system is one of the mysterious signs of the times signaling the Rapture is close at hand though no man may know the day or hour.
BTW ... Roll Tide!
It doesn’t work like that. There are at least 7 prophecies that must be fulfilled before Jesus returns.
Here’s one:
In Daniel 11, a prophecy very long, shows a key series of geopolitical maneuvers at the time of the end. A power from the Middle East called the King of the South will move against another power called the King of the North.
The King of the North will retaliate by invading several Middle Eastern nations and coming right into what the Bible calls the Glorious Landwhich is today, the State of Israel.
Jesus appeared to Saul on the Road to Damascus without setting foot on the Earth ... that's a big clue.
You’re reaching. Hope it comforts you.
It is in fact much more than just a comfort (1Thess4:18 says we are to do just that, comfort one another with the retelling of the coming Rapture). I’m tasked with sounding the alarm. The end of the Church Age is at the door. During the Church Age there is no distinction between Jew and Gentile. But during the Tribulation seven years the Jews will be evangelizing those still on this wrath-receiving planet.
Thanks MHGinTN .. I do so agree with you.
People believe Jesus will “come to the earth” .. when they’re really talking about the rapture - or the catching away of the “CHURCH” (those who believe and have accepted Jesus as the Son of GOD).
Jesus will not “appear” on the earth until after the war in Ezekiel 38-39.
You have no authority in Scripture to make claims that Christ is not returning soon, or in our lifetime, and then you accuse me of misreading Scripture. On top of that, you falsely claim this discussion “Benefits” me in some way by believing what Christ said. “Can’t you discern the signs of the times.” You are an anti-Chriistian with your mocking and opposing. I estimate that is motivated by your love for this world, and the fact that you don’t want to face God. As I said, good luck to you. Every day in the headlines tells us we are closer.
Here’s the simple test. Could Jesus return today? Tomorrow? A week from Thursday? If so, looking at it from the perspective of right now, wouldn’t his return be counted as soon? If not, what is the biblical evidence suggestive of some event that needs to occur before we can start “the countdown to his return”?
We will be transformed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye ... and that quickly disappear because He will have re-created us into higher dimensional beings able to see Jesus as He really is.
