Rachel Dolezal: There is "No Biological Proof" I am not Black

Speaking with Savannah Guthrie, Rachel Dolezal claimed that there is "no biological proof" that she is not black because she has not had her parents' DNA tested. She pushed further, stating that she is "definitely not white," despite the fact that she sued Howard University in 2005 claiming they discriminated against her because she was white.

“When someone asks, 'Are you black?’ which I actually don’t get asked very often until recently, since a few days ago, I say, ‘Yeah, I am black,’” she told Ms. Guthrie.

“I haven’t had a DNA test," Ms. Dolezal continued. "There’s been no biological proof that Larry and Ruthanne are my biological parents. I’m not necessarily saying that I can prove they’re not, but I don’t know that I can actually prove they are. I mean the birth certificate was issued a month and a half after I’m born. Certainly there were no medical witnesses to my birth. It was in the woods.”

Ms. Dolezal continued, “I definitely am not white. Nothing about being white describes who I am. So, you know, what’s the word for it? The closest thing that I can come to is if you’re black or white, I’m black."

She went on, "I’m more black than white. On a level of values, lived experience currently. In this moment, that’s the answer. That’s the accurate answer from my truth. But I hope the dialogue continues to push against, ‘What is race? What is ethnicity?’”

I am the result of a relationship of a teenage girl in the early 1960’s, and was put up for adoption. Have never found out who my birth mother was, but I look about as black as she did when a teenager.
Now who’s to say. I can claim I’m a damn Samoan and dare some jerk in the media to call me a liar.
I swear we all ought to do it to prove the idiocy of all of this including the Bruce issue.

Unless your parents emigrated from Iceland you are a hodgepodge of DNA from various parts of the world.

Especially the British.

And if your family has been in the USA for more then a couple of generations you are a mix.

Not ever heard of it. I looked on the net for a while, and contacted VA HHS, but was told only way to look at records was to have a court order.
I have had some medical issues which cause me to really want some family history, but as of now don’t have the money to hire a lawyer to go before the court in VA.

I don’t think it would go down well to have an all white organization for the purpose of advancing white people. Besides, she seems to have been doing an acceptable job so she’s just being fired for her race.
