Islam is currently the world's most controversialand fastest growingreligion. There are approximately 1.5 billion Muslims in the world, very few of whom are violent. The problem is that the relatively small number of violent oneswhether theyre jihadists or members of violent militias like ISIS and Boko Haramare causing a PR problem for what is sometimes called the "religion of peace." Added to the mix is the oppression of minorities, specifically women and gays, within some Muslim countries. Its hardly controversial to say that Islam has problems to address, though it can quickly get you called a bigot.
Just as with any other religion or ideology, none of which are close to perfect, Islam should be subjected to intense scrutiny. However, this is where the problem arises. Religions really hate criticism, which is odd. Questioning Islam puts you in different category from critics of other ideologies, a much more dangerous one. If you doubt this and think all religions are equally violent, try burning a Bible and then a Koran on YouTube and get back to me.

I would like to know what the author considers "very few" and what evidence he has to back up this assertion.
M’kay. I’m a bigot. Now what?
Good. I’m a bigot. Given the things that are considered bigotry these days...like acknowledging reality, I wear it proudly.
Don't care anymore. Obama has made bigotry fashionable again. Given the ever expanding group of grievance mongers demanding things, it's getting to the point where if you're not some sort of a "bigot", you are an idiot.
Dear doctor: Did you just identify the gender of that baby? Youre a bigot.
No Sale!
Doesn’t calling someone a bigot because they don’t agree with you also make YOU a bigot?
We need to start a third party - Bigots.
Perhaps very few actually perpetrate the violence, but a majority SUPPORT IT.
Yeah for bigotry!!!!!!!!!!
It’s not a religion. It’s a violent world-domination movement cleverly disguised as a religion.
There’s not just the social ostracization of criticizing Islam,
they’re going for criminalization.
And the point is not for your avg Joe to be criminalized,
but for Christians to be criminalized.
Islam appears to have many tenets that are in contradiction with the individual liberties protected by the Bill of Rights. These God-given liberties/rights are the foundation upon which our society and government rest. I, for one, will continue to oppose any action, policy or trend that would suppress my liberty because it “offends” a Muslim or places him in a “non-safe space” emotionally, or affronts his right to practice his religion (interpreted as “impose his religion” on the rest of us.)
If we don’t fight for our rights, they will be consumed by this religion. Go ahead, call me a bigot. I will call you a blind fool in return.
Islam is cloaked Satanism. Anyone that studies that belief system will come to that realization if they compare it to Satanism.
I’m just plain old Islamo-Nauseous.
Or, as Mark Steyn says, Islamed out.
