Baltimore Cop: No Proactive Policing

Baltimore Cop: No Proactive Policing 5.27.2015 News Sarah Fisher

Whilee Baltimore faces record levels of violence, an anonymous police officer told Sean Hannity last night that police will no longer be "proactive." This month there were 35 murders, and 32 reported shootings this past Memorial Day weekend alone.

A current Baltimore police officer who chose to hide his identity reacted on "Hannity" tonight, saying that the surge in violence is a "direct result" from the six officers who were indicted by a grand jury in the death of Freddie Gray.

"After the protests, it seems like the citizens would appreciate a lack of police presence, and that's exactly what they're getting," the officer said. "No proactive policing right now."

Hannity wanted to to know if police officers were afraid to do their jobs.

"When you go out into the street, you trust that your command staff and those you work with will support you," the officer replied. "The tip of the spear needs the most assurance that your department, your citizens, your mayor and city council have your back."

And the officer predicted that the violence would get worse over the summer.

"Summertime is usually the most violent time in the city," he stated. "This is going to be a fairly routine occurrence - double digit shootings, high homicide rates over the course of the next three months."

Wicomico County, MD Sheriff Mike Lewis (R) declared that police officers are “fearful” of doing their jobs on Wednesday’s “Hannity” on the Fox News Channel.

“Sean, the Baltimore City Police Department, the officers particularly on the street, have been eviscerated, they’ve been disemboweled, their guts removed to have the courage to go out there and do this job. They’re very fearful that if they go out there and be proactive, which we all should be doing in law enforcement today, we can’t afford to be reactive, especially in urban areas. Those officers are no longer being proactive, and as you see, the violence has surged. … And I hope this is a shot fired across the bow of mayors and urban leaders across this country. Once you disembowel your law enforcement officers, then you cannot no longer expect them to go out there and protect you, or protect your communities. This is very troubling the worst I’ve ever seen in 31 years of law enforcement.”

He added, “I’m hearing it all the time. They’re [police officers] fearful at doing their jobs.”

This is a union “work to rule” action, a type of legalized work slowdown. Classic.

Residents are speculating that police have been more reluctant to patrol their beats aggressively in the weeks since the riots. According to the Sun, Police Commissioner Anthony W. Batts denied there’s been a work “slowdown.” But he did suggest they’re having a harder time doing their jobs, saying his officers have been surrounded by hostile crowds “with handheld cameras that they’re sticking in the faces of officers, an inch off the officer’s face” while on patrol.

I'm reminded of what that Chinese guy said to the Harvard Professor.

"If you take away religion, you can't hire enough police."

Time for an epidemic of the Blue Flu.

Blacks riot destroying black businesses after a black guy dies in police custody because of three black officers led by a black police chief who is led by a black female mayor, with a black female
state attorney in a city ruled by democrats for over 50 years.

So, the first black female U.S. Attorney appointed by the first black president blames racism and
conservatives
for Baltimore's problems.

It is, but when you try to get Liberals to grasp the concept, their eyes simply glaze over. It's outside their normal thought process.

Let ‘em self-police.. See how long before City Hall takes some rounds.

And then listen to the wailing that goes down.

Sobering.

We are going to see more of what used to be called "the blue flu."

I would be doing exactly the same thing were I a Baltimore police officer. If they pick the criminals over the police, they can have more criminals!

I guess the police should just chill out at headquarters and still collect their paychecks...
