As leaders of state, including the Vatican, recognize the illegitimate claim of Palestinian statehood, there can be no peace as that claim is based wholly on the outright destruction of Israel, the Jews, and the subjugation of Christianity
Abandoning his own constituents, Pope Francis has embraced the divisive, terror-backed Palestinian Authority with a treaty recognizing its (nonexistent) statehood and an open-armed welcome of Mahmoud Abbas, P.A. leader, as an angel of peace. With this action, the pope iced the cake of tumultuous Middle East politics by celebrating a condoner of ISIS that continues to persecute members of his own Catholic flock in Syria and Iraq.
Abbas stands with Hamas, an officially identified terrorist group that calls for Israels annihilation, the Palestinian National Charter iterating their same goal. How this warrants Abbas to be acclaimed an angel of peace is absurd when he, and the political entity he represents, quantifies the opposite sentiment. Church hierarchy may be canonizing two 19th century nuns from the Holy Land that is now under Palestinian control, however that hardly qualifies Abbas as a man of peace despite the popes gushing admiration. Even Abbas comment praising the newly honored saints Mariam Bawardy and Marie Alphonsine Ghattas as inspirational models for todays Palestinians, and asking Christians like them to remain in the region, seems to advocate Christians be submissive to Islam.

Already pointed out as misleading by the Jewish Press.
angel of peace? Is this pope hooked on meth?
angel of peace? Is this pope hooked on meth?
Okay, if he didn’t say that, I’ll retract my comment.
I am not sure. Either way, I am not much of a fan of this pope.
This is not true. Been pretty thoroughly debunked here and elsewhere.
I did find this post in the thread you linked:
“Pope Francis is probably one of the mostmisunderstood Popes in my lifetime.
From Homosexuality, to Wealth Redistribution, to Capitalism, to Palestine, every time he makes a statement, it has to be re-clarified by either the Vatican or some other Catholic agency or spokesperson.
Ive never seen anything like it, at least not with Pope John Paul II or Pope Benedict.”
So true. He also made the early statement about atheists being redeemed that had to be clarified a few days later.
He’s not cut out for the job.
Okay. See my later post. Thank you.
I cannot believe that FREEPERS are still falling for whatever the current media says about this Pope!
(Rolling eyes...)
-Ronald Reagan, Address to Members of the British Parliament June 8, 1982
(Snicker ....)
I hope folks here are smart enough to recognize that my “Ronald Reagan quote” above is both completely accurate and thoroughly dishonest. It’s not too different from what Big Media does routinely.
I miss John Paul...
I think it’s the Arab ownership of the press.
Reagan, Pope John Paul II and Margaret Thatcher were a wonderful Triune Force against communism.
It’s indeed sad to see what has become of our country since then.
;-) You GET it....with humor even!
I think its the Arab ownership of the press.
Liberals are just as bad.
Good grief....why is the PLO visiting the Pope??
I don’t get it, what is wrong with this man?
So we now have a Commie pope and a Commie POTUS.
Maybe what Hal Lindsay and Irvin Baxter say is really coming true.
Anti-Christ is coming.
I guess if or when the Temple is built, that’ll be the surest sign.
A copy of the Holy See's own Evangelii Gaudium. In it, Pope Francis explains: "We hold the Jewish people in special regard because their covenant with God has never been revoked. . . . Dialogue and friendship with the children of Israel are part of the life of Jesus' disciples." [Pope Francis Did NOT Call Abbas an 'Angel of Peace']OTOH:
When the Vatican recognized Israel, at the beginning of the Nineties, it happened within the framework of Oslo Accords: Israel fatally recognized the PLO and the Catholic Church in exchange recognized the decades-old Jewish State... For over forty years after the Jewish State won independence in 1948, the Vatican adopted a diplomatic policy copying that of Israel's enemies: total non-recognition of the Jewish statehood. Despite the acceptance by all Western nations, including, at the beginning, the Communist bloc, the Vatican's recognition of Israel occurred only in 1993...
