Ian Reisner, one of the two gay hoteliers facing boycott calls for hosting an event for Senator Ted Cruz, who is adamantly opposed to gay marriage, apologized to the gay community for showing poor judgment.
Mr. Reisner put the apology on Facebook, where a page calling for a boycott of his properties, the gay-friendly OUT NYC hotel and his Fire Island Pines holdings, had gotten more than 8,200 likes by Sunday evening.
I am shaken to my bones by the e-mails, texts, postings and phone calls of the past few days. I made a terrible mistake, wrote Mr. Reisner.
The New York Times first reported on the event, a dinner and fireside chat on April 20, at the duplex Mr. Reisner and his business partner Mati Weiderpass co-own on Central Park South in Manhattan.
The two men are prominent figures in the gay rights community, and Mr. Reisner has been especially vocal about gay marriage. Hes also a staunch supporter of Israel, as is Mr. Cruz....

So did he get a death threat? Or did he just figure it was becoming bad for business for him?
Another victim of leftist intolerance.
Looks like the supposedly intolerant Cruz is more tolerant towards this person than all his “tolerant” gay buddies.
This is the part that gets me. It sounds like blackmail is involved. What is it that the Gaystapo says to these people that turns them into crying sniveling cowards? Not just this fellow but practically everyone who doesn't march in goosestep with these people?
Even the Pope seems to get the willies whenever he has to discuss homosexuality and some believe his predecessor was driven out by the Gay Mafia inside the Vatican.
Two of Cruz’s close buddies. I doubt he would even say those things. After all if his daughter is gay no big deal according to him. Rather surprising but whatever.
Dittos....I knew it...
Unfortunately, this absurd apology will just embolden them, not make them see the error of their totalitarian ways.
The few who may "see this insanity" are far outnumbered - and under the power of - the majority. I would like to be wrong about this.
Mr. Reisner’s “terrible mistake” was not that he hosted Sen Cruz.
The “gay community” can be a real pain in the rear. Seriously, gays are allowed to be “single issue” oriented so regardless of what else a candidate believes they cannot vote for anyone who believes in the sanctity of holy matrimony. They just cannot understand why after years of brainwashing by the media and Hollywood there are so many who still believe that homosexuality is a perversion and not normal. These are the same people who rant that Darwin is correct but do not understand that natural selection does not support homosexuality.
